June Event and Intro Log Diatu and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Sundering Midterm Results It turns out that inadvertently summoning a horrible demon of immense and terrible power is still worth a passing grade: minus a lot of points for summoning the entirely wrong thing, but enough extra credit for successfully doing something so incredibly over-the-top to make up for it just a little. Meanwhile, something something power of running water, there's a demon imprisoned in the fountain, locked behind a massive magic circle of protection. Its flames neither evaporate the water nor are quenched by it, its lashing pointy tail stabs futilely at the stone in an attempt at petty vandalism, and otherwise it squats with otherworldly patience, claws drumming on its thighs. Till someone comes close, and then it calls out. "Come! It is in my power to grant a wish to those who ask! Speak your desire and I shall grant it!" Of course, the demon's ability to interpret wishes in an extremely jerkass manner is unparalleled by mortal malice. Still, this doesn't stop those students who think they're clever, can outwit a demon, have a background in legal jargon, or just want a turkey sandwich on rye bread with lettuce and mustard and-and they don’t want any zombie turkeys, they don’t want to turn into a turkey themselves, and they don’t want any other weird surprises. Needless to say, it has gone well for none of them -- but will you be the one to break the streak? As for the circle, it is specifically warded against meddling, so no freeing the demon (accidentally or otherwise). Those who try to touch it or cross through it are promptly hurled with pinpoint accuracy into a nearby pond that has been put there explicitly for this purpose. (Except for Minamimoto -- if HE messes with it, his pants rip themselves off his body, wrap around his head, and haul him away while shouting the multiplication tables incorrectly.) Potent Potables Students work hard, and they play hard. Around midterms, this often takes the form of picnics with unreserved and unrestricted access to not just copious amounts of barbecue and potato salad, but also alcohol. From fine wines to barrels of beer to Liverpunch Whiskey, all sorts of offerings pop up at the parties that occupy space along the Walk or outside the Towers and Keep. Anastara, you see, has no legal drinking age; like most of the Tenscore Kingdoms, children grow up with alcohol, and generally its consumption is seen as no major event and no special treat. And it simply hasn't occurred to anyone that other cultures on other worlds might not function the same. So enjoy a picnic, but also enjoy your free access to the wonders of intoxication. Physical Challenge (aka the Prompt Least Likely To Cause Suffering) Healthy body, healthy mind, the saying goes. Professors Trammel and Kith, adherents to this philosophy, have begun holding extracurricular exercise groups during the off hours. Students can learn proper weightlifting techniques for endurance as well as strength, jog around the campus in groups, play impromptu games that get the body moving, or even just practice slow stretches and what other worlds might call 'yoga'. Captain Lominia aggressively prowls the area, looking for people to scoop into bala-inlota exercises -- far more grueling and dangerous to succeed at if you don't want to be badgered onto the student team, but amazing workouts either way. And Headmaster Birony has set up a fairly extreme obstacle course straight out of a ninja challenge, overseen by Professor Porfsin from behind a cannon which magically flings beanbags at the participants. Those who make it through receive a pie from the Headmaster, who it turns out apparently can make a really darn tasty pie. Research On the Sundered With the arrival of the Sundered come those wizards engaged in research on their presence here, now set to investigate what brought them here and how to get them home. All newly-arrived Sundered students are asked to meet with representatives of the research team, to introduce themselves and relate what they will of their homes. In addition, the team requests samples of blood, hair, and skin -- carefully magically collected, and the researchers will sign in the presence of the Sundered a Glyphed contract that forbids them from using the samples for a purpose they know will be harmful. (They quite understand your reasons to be suspicious of this collection! And they will not compel anyone who refuses even given these conditions.) This month, the researchers wish for you to engage in some sort of conflict, clash, or battle with your fellow Sundered. Spars with blunted weapons are the obvious choice, but games of strategy like go, shogi, or Fantastic Foils are also an option. A rousing debate will do as well -- anything that raises passion and energy. The team explains that they've found many of the Sundered who they interviewed have recently been through some sort of conflict or trouble on their world, and they wish to see if there's any magically-measurable aspect they share when challenged. Wonders Await Diatu Magicademy is open to you in all its glory. Except for the fountain. You can't swim in the fountain till they figure out how to banish the demon.

This whole 'magic school' thing isn't really up Tidus's alley. He hadn't really paid attention when Lulu and Yuna tried to teach him minor spells before, and now there's math involved too? Ugh. He's been frustrated for a week.

Luckily, this is something he can actually do. The new blonde takes to the courses with gusto, whooping and cheering (and getting back up the moment he's knocked down by a beanbag. Hey, nothing's as bad as dodging lightning.)

When he sees another student on the course, he gives them a cheery wave, or pauses to smile if he sees someone hesitating.

Did someone say food? He's so there. Tidus can be found stuffing his face in the lovely weather, smiling wide. He's in heaven. Just...make sure he doesn't eat all the barbecue.

After his journey, Tidus is now a somewhat passable swordsman! He can be found twirling a practice weapon in the air, lowering it when he sees someone approach.

"Hey, wanna try me? I should warn you, I'm kinda tough---but it's okay if you're new. I didn't learn all that long ago myself." Knock that smile off his face, or take him up on a friendly game?

He'd wondered if this could happen. Thought about the possibility and then stopped thinking about it, because why invite trouble he didn't need? And why try to handle a situation he couldn't when it wasn't there?

And here it was.

So there's a lot of stuff he couldn't say. A lot of things he couldn't express. No good way to say hi. They'd traded a high-five and that was supposed to be it between them. All that needed to be said. And now here's this stupid school, this stupid word, making some more stuff necessary!

But he had a sword to say stuff with. Even if it's a practice sword.

"Yeah." Jecht stepped out of the shadows, dropping the end of his practice sword to the ground with a heavy thunk so he could rest his hand on the hilt. "You owe me a rematch. Without help this time!"

[ alright, FINALLY, this is a research task he can get behind. w- well, ok, about half of it. yugi isn't interested in fighting or sparring, but he wouldn't mind playing a game ( any game ) with his fellow sundered. his new favorite is, of course, fantastic foils. he's put together a pretty powerful deck, though he probably won't be using it, especially if his opponent has never even heard of the game. ]

[ the picnic comes as a welcome surprise, especially since most people seem to be losing their cool to the stress of midterms. yugi doesn't seem to worried, because he usually always try to get in a little studying before bed, but that doesn't mean he thinks he knows it all. he'll do his best and that's that. no point in driving himself crazy when the strange stuff that happens regularly around school does that for him. ]

[ she's not thrilled to be there and that much is probably plainly obvious by how she avoids everyone and everything. she did have to speak to the staff, since she arrived without her powers, which meant that she'd been stuck as a dragon, but they'd helped her tap into the innate ability of transformation, so she could at least look somewhat more presentable and less like any of the demons recently summoned. still, she's clearly very uncomfortable. ]

[ her metallic wings are folded behind her back, since they're not in use, her tail is tightly coiled around her leg, hidden, and her horns... well, those aren't exactly easy to hide, even with a hood pulled overhead. ]

[ because everybody is fussing about midterms she hopes she can slip by unnoticed, but she's about two seconds away from having a meltdown, because compared to all these people, even other sundered, she's so very far behind. they know magic and she knows knowing. they can defend themselves. they can hurt her. she tenses at the thought, her mind taking and running with it. ]

[ don't mind the girl that's stopped in the middle of one of the many outdoor walkways to cup her face and whine into her hands. she's fine. really. ]

'Again they come to make you kneel, to make you grovel and suffer. But you have endured their worst and survived. You know their tricks. They will not find a flower simply waiting to be plucked.

Yotsuyu steps off the walkway on to the grass, in hopes of coaxing this girl off the path to speak with her. So no one else--a more brash or less empathetic individual, though Yotsuyu would laugh to hear herself called the latter--might push the hooded one aside, and potentially compound the problem.]

This isn't the same as the lunches he's used to on the campus grounds, so of course Kuja is taking right to it, if only just to see what it's about. He isn't huge on alcohol, but he does have a sample of the wine offered and finds he enjoys it well enough to have a glass while he finds something to sate his hunger. He's not particularly fond of the barbecue, but if he pushes enough of the sauce off the meat, he can handle it a little easier. Oh well.


Research On the Sundered

He still has his thoughts on what this research is going to lead to, but out of curiosity again, Kuja is going to participate. He's confident enough in his skills as a fighter, even in the magic of this world, but those other games have his interest just as well. He doesn't know many of them - or any, really - but he's willing to learn. And he might be found wandering around the area, eyeing the boards, familiarizing himself with the rules.

Having heard about the possibility to go home, Noctis practically leaped at the chance. He wasn't giving his life story or any sort of samples to the researchers, no matter what they said. And from what he understood of the 'rules' sounded quite frankly to him like when he served (unwillingly at first) under Materia's banner.

The king had thought about a blunted weapon, that wasn't out of his range ability, but his father's sword was his pride and joy, even if that was the one that had done him in. All of his magic was gone, warp strike, the Armiger, all of it. So the sword was an even better companion in an unknown place.

Seeing the somewhat familiar silver-haired man looking at the boards, Noctis looked over at him but then went to go see the spot where this event was supposed to take place.

[Webby made a wish that wasn't well thought-out, and as a result, she's a little... off, today. All the below prompts take place before this one, because in those prompts, she's her normal, peppy, nice self.

But after all that and the genie's wish? She can be seen ANGRILY haggling at storefronts! Manipulating students into doing her homework/classwork for her! Refusing to share her notes and greedily hoarding up anything she can get her grubby hands on!

[Despite being small and adorable and a duckling, Webby has crazy strength. As a result, the obstacle course was lots of fun and easily done, and she's enjoyed the benefits of pie.

... And now she wants to do it again. She wipes the remnants of pie off of her mouth with the back of her arm, and then gleefully sprints off to the obstacle course.]

Hendrik has been studying hard because it takes a while for him to absorb anything that isn't something to do with knights or their duties. Book learning is easy if it's a topic he's comfortable and familiar with, but other than that, it's a challenge. Since he can't cook, he's off trying to eat all of this damn free food and there's a book to study nearby as well.

Drinking isn't his thing because normally he has to babysit the Luminary but Hendrik realizes that a bit of downtime isn't really going to hurt anything. (he hopes) So yes there's alcohol here, not that he's planning on getting drunk anyhow. But it'll probably happen.

Wanna fight? (aka Research)

This is a very well trained knight and until events at the Ball happened, he trained with the Luminary every day. (Just ask him) The knight fights fair and may even go a tad easier on some people than others. He's got a greatsword and a pretty solid shield, but he favors the two-handed greatsword.

Along with the break Kuja himself has been taking, he has stopped by to see what all the fuss is about with the scents in the air such as they are. And, of course, because it's made available and because he sees no reason against it, Kuja has taken a glass of wine with him to wander around the grounds with, along with a plate of some of the food offered.

Food now mostly gone, Kuja has abandoned the rest to Califleur, who happily chows down as they go, and he contents himself now that she's sated as well. It isn't long before Kuja spots the man - Hendrik, was it? - who he had been forced into conversation with some time ago, and he steps closer, watching him.

The allure of free booze is far too tempting a treat for this guy. In no time at all, Kazuma is happily buzzed and laughing somewhat manically as he table-hops from picnic to party, up and down the Walk.

Kazuma and voluntary exercise with no apparent(ie valuable) reward? Pffhahaha. Yeah right. But he'll happily waste his time on the sidelines laughing at others as they fail, if you're into that sort of thing.

Research On the Sundered

Kazuma's quickly on the prowl for some 'friendly' competition at a game of chance or strategy. He might be looking to add in a fairly low stakes bet or two to add to the 'passion and energy'. Yep, that's totally the reason why. Also, did someone say there's a card game? Better hope they've kept the broken combo possibilities to a minimum. Sparring isn't so much his thing, but he does have a sword(don't ask what its name is). Just be ready to face a dirty fighter, or don't be ready, cheap tricks tend to work better that way.

For the first half of the time, Fluttershy was too busy chasing down a certain new dolphin familiar to really be enjoying much of the picnic. The land dolphin seemed to be taking advantage of the fact that wine is readily available, and was taking as much as he possibly could.

"Tango, I said leave some for other people...!"

Eventually, when she was worn from following Tango around, the dolphin persuaded Fluttershy to relax by showing her why he enjoyed wine so much. And at first, she wasn't sure if she really liked the taste.

But after another drink or so, she did finally seem to be relaxing...perhaps a bit too relax.

And quite a bit giggly.

In all honesty, Fluttershy wasn't the most physically active person. She was fit enough to walk and chase down animals as she needed to, but she didn't really play much sports or anything.

Still, a healthy body for a healthy mind. And the yoga-like stretches seemed within her range of physical activity, so she could be found with the group of students doing the slow, careful stretches and deep breathing.

Louie had really just ignored the alcohol, out of disinterest and an assumption he wouldn't be able to get some, anyway. When he sees Fluttershy, it's just catching her out of the corner of his eye, so it doesn't occur to him that something's off there. Something else does occur to him, though, so he's amused as he heads over to her.

"So, I bet Tango's having a blast with all of this, huh?"

Lena couldn't help pausing a moment as she heard the demon calling out from the fountain. Though she never went over to the fountain to make a wish herself, she did linger at times, whether people were there to make a wish or not.

Most of the time, she could be found just observing the wish-granting demon from a safe distance.

As a general rule, Lena was not one to turn down free food. So she could be found around the picnic, eating whatever was available.

She was smart enough to steer clear of the alcohol, though. After an initial taste to satisfy her curiosity, she figured she could easily do without.

Though she was on the lookout for anyone who might have a low tolerance for the stuff.

"Is he, um, always there?" Rapunzel asked the nearest person before she even glanced over - and down, as it turned out. Oh goodness, that was a duck. That was a duck... Person? And she was adorable.

Meet and Greet
[Rapunzel has been at the Magicademy for less than a day when she hears about the midterms. Hayley, the travel trunk-sized Moonlight Hydra she's been assigned as a familiar, still has one head at this point, and so is able to verbally guide Rapunzel when it comes to certain aspects of magic and her newer new home. She misses Pascal, and her newer friends from the past month in Verens, but she's getting by.

Part of the way she's getting by is by trying to make more friends, additional new friends. She isn't afraid to approach people anymore, so she'll happily head over to anyone with a grin, ready to introduce herself.]

Yuki's out with his black rat familiar Mayonaka on his shoulder. It's not actually his idea for this to be happening but it's been a part of their bonding process. So he's trying to spend time with his companion as he can while he can because midterms are coming up and he's been working at the bookstore.

Hearing an unfamiliar voice, Yuki turns to see a new face who is wandering around. She doesn't seem lost or in distress in any way but the unfamiliar thing with her makes him wonder as to what it is.

So as he turns away, the rat decides to make a loud squeak and make a run for it, though thankfully Yuki catches him, right about to where Rapunzel is standing.

Apologetically he bowed and then stood up. "I'm sorry, we didn't mean to startle you."

Believe it or not, Seto Kaiba is actually fairly fit. He had to build muscle definition in order to condition his body for transdimensional travel, after all, and it's high time he kept up that regimen. He's dressed in a standard gym uniform that reveals his muscles, bench-pressing a fairly impressive weight for someone who doesn't otherwise look much like a gladiator

Even he balks at the main course, though. "The reward for a fitness challenge is pie? Isn't that...off-brand for a fitness-focused event?"

Naturally, of course, he's overseeing the research to make sure nothing shady is going on. But oddly, this month's addition catches his attention. Should he see anyone with a card deck, or interested in a card deck, he boldy steps forward.

Rapunzel had just been innocently looking at a deck of interestingly-illustrated cards when the other teen approached her, and she looked incredibly alarmed at his words. Verens, despite the risks of emotions magic running amok, had seemed pleasantly devoid of actual dangerous people. Perhaps these place wasn't as safe?

In the wake of a Ball that was more fun than Eleven recalled ever having, the newly discovered access to free food and alcohol came as a pleasant surprise. He's had ale and beer before and they did their job well enough, but wines and whiskey were near-uncharted territory. A natural curiosity drew him to sampling several of them just as soon as he discovered them.

So loose-limbed and grin at the ready, Eleven piled a plate high of food, delighted by the sweet, somewhat tart sauce slathered over various meats. As it turned out, everything seemed to pair wonderfully with the alcohol.

He might be a little drunk.

..Just a little, though.

As a mix of magical talent and swordplay, Eleven knew well the importance of maintaining a healthy body. Between his daily spars with Hendrik and morning runs with Isabel, he was well on his way to developing a solid athletic build. As such, the varying excerises only presented one real difficulty: deciding which of them to pursue.

"I already run every day," he muttered, indecisive and eyeing over the obstacle course. He turned to find another Sundered nearby.

"What do you think of it?"

Eleven didn't hesitate for a moment, leaping up before the researchers even finished speaking. He only had eyes for the wooden sword on display and favored it over the very real, sharp version strapped to his back.

He flourished the weapon with turn of his wrist, eyes bright and seeking an opponent.

"I don't know if this will work, but I'm always willing to spar."

No sooner did Eleven brandish his weapon that it was met with a greatsword.

"Do you feel ready to spar with someone familiar with the way that you fight? Or do you still feel that you need more time?"

Research on the Sundered

Now this was his sort of study. The part of him that loved challenges and combat had been chafing ever since his arrival here, in this world not full of monsters and villains to face. Dueling with practice weapons was nothing like a real battle, but it was better than nothing to satisfy that drive of his. And he didn't want to hurt anyone, after all.

So Dust scooped up a practice sword, flipping it from forward to reverse grip and back to check its balance. No Ahrah, but it'd do.

"Hey! You're forgetting you have TWO swords now! Pick up another one!" came a voice from the red-runed sword hanging at his side.

"Maybe later, Furae." With the prospect of a good spar ahead of him, Dust felt more tolerant towards his familiar's shenanigans than usual.

Physical Challenge

The obstacle course wasn't much of one from Dust's perspective. Jumping from platform to platform or using ropes to climb was no more grueling than daily life in Falana, so blurring through the challenge proved no problem at all.

To those looking at it themselves, Dust posed a question: "Any idea on how to spice this up a little?"

Quiet moments, in between training and adventure, find Dust leaning up against the side of the Great Hall. Ahrah hung from one hip, Furae from the other -- and in his hands he held a third sword. Despite his hidden eyes, his expression was nonetheless one of confusion, almost to the point of dismay.

"What's with this place and giving me swords?"

Eleven glanced at his fellow student, amusement in his eyes and the words to something about the difficulty of wielding three swords when his eyes fell on the sword in question. His smile faded, heart stopping as surely as his feet, and eyes going wide.

He knew that sword- had seen it lit by golden light and within reach of his fingertips, only to see it corrupted in the hands of a demon.

"Where," he said, the word leaving him on a rushed breath. He felt weak, mind hazy. How could it be here? Eleven studied the Sundered's features, eyes lingering on the turn of his hands.

"That's.. the Sword of Light. ..You said it was a gift?"

Orisa was sad.

Her systems were not improved by physical exercise. Although she had some measure of self-repair functionality, her parameters did not increase from exertion. And the obstacle course simply was not designed for her -- four legs and one hand made some of the challenges simply impossible to complete, although she could barrel through many of them by force.

So Orisa watched from the sidelines, eyes set in two distinct slashes of sadness, and wondered how she could participate effectively.

Kazuma is looking up and down at the strange mechanization that is Orisa, his face deep in thought.

If you think Noa is fool enough to try and bargain with a demon, you have another thing coming. For the moment, he and his usual attending penguin are studying at a safe distance, occasionally turning their gaze up to whatever fool is either attempting a deal, or attempting to prod a seal. Or a demon.

Regardless, they're doing something, and Noa will watch somewhat impassively as the consequences play out. "Hhnn. That could have gone better," he'll typically say, unless the results aren't immediately apparent. In that case, he actually stands, stares, and asks-

"....So?"

So what happened.

Noa takes one look at that challenge course that has been set up, and grimaces. The penguin with him gives an excited 'AAAAAAU!'.

The mood isn't shared. "...No," Noa simply remarks, grimacing.

Physical Challenge

Being suddenly thrown into a school right before midterms is not something Rachel's particularly happy about. She's never exactly been a top-of-the-class student, and that was when the subjects were things like math and history, not magic. But she's been trying, even if it gives her a headache most of the time and she just wants to find a supervillian to punch.

Physical training is almost good enough. If nothing else, it's something she's good at. Gotta stay in shape so you don't look like a blob in spandex after all. So she's throwing herself at the obstacle course with something approaching glee. Her intensity is almost scary, especially since she's not actually getting very far before she falls, or gets knocked off by a magically propelled bean bag or something.

Finally she decides to take a breather, and maybe get to know more of her fellow students. She spots a small group and wanders over, still breathing heavy.

"Hey there! This is fun, isn't it?"

"You bet it is!" Dewey grinned, taking a swig from a water flask he'd brought from the Great Hall before offering it to her. "I just got here but I gotta say, this place is pret-ty freak-in awesome."

This obstacle course was almost like the Temples back home. Only...not actively trying to kill him. And he didn't have Navi. Link had been nailed by a beanbag once already and was quite cheerfully getting ready for a second go at it, despite the welt forming on his forehead.

"I wish for a boombox!" Dewey proclaims, thinking somehow that there is no way he could be misinterpreted. The genie looks absolutely bored, zapping a small box at his feet before disappearing.

Clearly, Dewey doesn't get it. He kneels down to inspect his prize eagerly. "Wow, this is the tiniest -"

The moment he lifts the lid, sticks of foundation, bronzer, blush, and lipstick fly out, swarming his face in a cloud of automated cosmetics.

"WHAT?! AAAAAAH! NO, WHAT THE -- ooh, creamy texture -- SERIOUSLY THIS IS NOT WHAT I WISHED FOR!"

An obstacle challenge is just the thing Dewey needs to restore himself after those awful, soul-crushing midterms - which he knows he's probably going to fail, having only been there a handful of days. He may not have been able to prove that he's good at magic - yet - but he knows he can prove he's good at this. He dashes through the obstacles with agility and a minimum of trip-ups, whooping happily as he vaults over, swishes under, and dodges those beanbags, even catching a couple and throwing them back in Professor Porfsin's direction.

All the while, he's laughing happily, because -

"WOOO-HOO-HOOOOO, this is the best!"

A race, as well as having to dodge all the obstacles? Oh, little duck man, it is on!! Isabel didn't have to worry about midterms or anything, because she's as much nerd as jock, but she was all about throwing herself into the course.

"So, you wanna split that pie with me?" Isabel's allowed to be a little cocky, mostly because she's got long legs. Still, with the way the duck's bouncing around the course, she figures she's got some work cut out for her--it won't just be an easy win.

Cliff is one of those children (though at this rate, he's not exactly a child) who grew up with alcohol, so it's nothing special to him--save at Diatu he hasn't got access to it, usually. Still, he's not about to make a fool of himself. He's sitting with his robe arranged around himself properly, with a tankard of ale to one side and a plate of food on a napkin in his lap. He looks like he might even be enjoying himself!

Now, Cliff isn't a slouch when it comes to physical activity, usually--the Elemental College of his homeland had always put forth an active mind, active body sort of approach--but he hadn't expected to be pelted with beanbags during his run of the obstacle course! (He really should have known better!) He's more than a little embarrassed--and at least he has a second set of House robes, because his are more than a little worse for wear, after a few tries.

His familiar is just spinning in place, facepalming at him. He should've known better!

Louie is looking for a spot to sit that looks as comfortable as the ground ever can - he's not a fan of 'roughing it' in any sense - when he spots Cliff, and heads over with his plate. He flops down to take a seat beside him with a relaxed smile.

Diatu and the...

Yotsuyu is not there for the demon. She knows just enough about voidsent that engaging it in any way would be..a very bad idea. And in truth, she isn't certain what the demon could give her. The solutions to her problems? They're not something that could be solved by a wish or a snap of some magical creature's fingers.

So mostly, she observes. Though Yotsuyu does turn a wary eye on those who do approach the fountain.

"I would not, were I you." It isn't much, but it is a warning, nonetheless.

Right now, Yotsuyu is wondering how she could sneak a bottle or two of this wine into her living quarters. Oh, she can afford her own beverages, but this? The vintages the school has procured, that is the good stuff. Considering the time of day and week, she is not drunk--but she has been drinking. Though Yotsuyu is canny enough to have partaken of the barbecue beforehand, so she isn't precisely intoxicated. Yet. But she is in a very good mood.

"I do not participate in combat," Yotsuyu said dryly. Well, not without a good reason, or under duress. "Perhaps I could interest you in a game of sorts?"

Then again, she does have her fan--there is nothing like it in the array of blunted weapons, however.

New Kid On The Block
[Roxas has just arrived recently, and is still getting his bearings. He was given a bit of a crash-course by Gideon the Wise, an old wizard who he stumbled across and who grumbled at him at first but ultimately helped guide him in the right direction. But as much as he could be told about something, he finds that simply going out and exploring is still his best way to get his bearings.]

[Those who have been here a while may find Roxas wandering the halls in between classes, or may just notice the new kid in your class. He's still getting used to this whole 'school' thing as well, so he might need a bit of a hand with some of the math equations.]

Taking a rather unorthodox method to the physical challenge, Hel uses it as a means to test out some of her newly reacquired abilities. Using her levitation spell, for example makes getting over the hurdles and climbing related elements a breeze. Then when a series of stray beanbags are lobbed at her she casts a bolt of dark energy at them which makes them explode on impact long before they can collide with her body. Was this the point of a physical challenge? Not likely, but she was never a melee fighter, and always a spellweaver.

Besides, she wasn't aiming for for the pie.

When she had finished the obstacle course she frowned. Her abilities while not bad, were just not where she wanted them to be. "....."

Per usual the request of the researchers sounded foolish, but Hel had not as yet solved the conundrum of sundering for herself yet so she went along with it. Although, it was not before asking them a question of her own. If she was going to keep providing them aide then it was time for them to help in the reverse. Although she was a little leery of bringing this up, since there was a taboo that surrounded the subject she risked it. "What can you tell me about The Conclave?". Hel made it a point to meet the researcher's eyes keen on judging their reaction.

Once that was out of the way, she abandoned her chair and went out into the hall looking for a victim.

"Hey you over there..... you're ignorant and your breath smells worse than Fenrir's."

Well, the researchers said they wanted a conflict.....

After the Twilight Ball, Atem was looking for more opportunities to expand his social circle- although he had done plenty of that at the aforementioned ball -the picnic seemed ideal for accomplishing this. After having partaken of some of the available consumables he found a group to sit with that didn't seem to mind the extra company.

Somehow it all devolved into a drinking contest, however- and Atem was never one to turn down a challenge. Too bad for some of the participants since it wasn't as if he was a lightweight when it came to alcohol or that drinking it was so new to him. Oftentimes the alcohol was safer to drink than the water back in his time...

"Woah.... careful there. Don't you think we'd better stop with that last one?" He gently cautioned one of the participants that seemed to be getting too tipsy for their own good.

No stranger to physical fitness himself, Atem is taking the opportunity to get in a proper workout. He'll start with a few stretches, maybe get in some jogging before some weight training. Wearing lighter clothing for once, it's not hard to see that he's in shape- Apparently you have to be in order to play a children's card game -which likely hasn't escaped the notice of the bala-inlota crowd.

Atem is gladly accepting all challenges whether it's Fantastic foils, chess, checkers or something entirely different. It's a perfect opportunity to display his almost unnatural talent for a wide variety of pastimes, including those that he might have never played before. Atem has always managed to pick up rules rather swiftly and he has a keen eye for observation. There's only one problem with this request from the researchers. It's that a certain pharaoh might be paying more attention to gaming, than midterms because of it.

"You played admirably," He gently consoled his latest opponent. When they moved on, he sought out another willing participant.
