February Event and Intro Log
Orientation Week/Magic Mayhem
The campus of Diatu Magicademy stretches out before you, confused and chaotic and surging with energy. Where are you headed? To your dorm or suite, to get settled? Maybe you need some food now? Wherever you head off to as your first stop, you have to deal with the snow. Helpful or proud students are passing out various magical remedies to get you where you need to be -- umbrellas with a nasty tendency to dump snow directly onto other people nearby, an iron tube that projects fire but appears to have no off switch, snowshoes that keep you slightly too high off the snow and thus provide no friction for stopping...
Familiar Follies
Familiars do not harass or harm each other as a rule -- but that doesn't mean they have no pecking order, and the week of Orientation finds them all jockeying for status and position as suits them. This can take the form of pranks, displays, competitions, or simple physical assertiveness towards each other. The goal is simply to be seen as superior by the student body. New wizards especially may find themselves surprised at this behavior of their familiars...
Research On the Sundered
With the arrival of the Sundered come those wizards engaged in research on their presence here, now set to investigate what brought them here and how to get them home. All Sundered students are asked to meet with representatives of the research team, to introduce themselves and relate what they will of their homes. In addition, the team requests samples of blood, hair, and skin -- carefully magically collected, and the researchers will sign in the presence of the Sundered a Glyphed contract that forbids them from using the samples for a purpose they know will be harmful. (They quite understand your reasons to be suspicious of this collection! And they will not compel anyone who refuses even given these conditions.)
Furthermore, they request to perform a few spells on you for testing purposes. It is, quite regrettably, possible that if you consent to this testing, you will come away with a temporary side effect -- a slight change of hair color, traveling two steps for every one you take, one hand moving about a second behind the arm it should be attached to, or being ridden by a penguin. No need to worry, these changes won't last more than a day!
Wonders Await

It was during some quiet contemplation when he noticed the footsteps. Boy did he choose the wrong day to wear sandals. Still, he started to follow the tracks. If he got misplaced he could always follow them back.

When he did get a better look, he was standing just a few paces from the fallen figure. "You don't have to run." Atem kneeled down and offered the stranger a hand up. "I know this might be very disorienting for you, but it is for all of us. They- the school and it's staff, they only want to help us". Presumably.

"You shouldn't stay out here, it's not safe to try and deal with all of this on your own."

Yes, she just said created.

"Either way, you won't accomplish anything by succumbing to the elements. Let's return to the school for now, and then you can decide on the best course of action there."
CW: suicidal thoughts. But then... Xion.
Yeah, Xion saw no reason to go inside. What did it matter if the elements killed her, at this point? She was supposed to be dead anyway. And hopefully if she didn't connect to anyone here, they wouldn't remember her. Maybe this could still work. She knew she was too much a coward to kill herself. But she could lay down in the snow and just sleep. When her powers ran this low all she wanted to do was sleep, anyway. Just this time... she would not wake up.
Noted
He tried once more to offer her a hand up, because despite how the cold was effecting him he was not going to abandon this girl to the elements. "Stand up."

"No matter what you may have done to feel guilty about, it's no reason to end your life!"

"Because I was never supposed to have been created! Because it is the only way to give Sora the power to undo all the harm I did working for Xemnas in building Kingdom Hearts! Because every time I get stronger, Roxas gets weaker, and because Xemnas and Saïx only need one of us. If I live they will destroy Roxas. Or they will destroy me without releasing my memories! If people remember me when I die, Sora can never wake, and the world needs Sora." Far more than they needed a Nobody like her.
"I have to cease to exist, and I have to do so forgotten! It is the only way. So if you really want to help, kill me and then forget I existed!"
Because she's never been strong enough to kill herself.

"I am certain there is something critical to your story that I am just missing... " Atem freely admitted.
"I can't do that." Then more strongly he added. "I won't do that." After that he tried another tactic. "Besides, you are no longer in your world. This may even be a different dimension entirely with it's own set of rules on how magic does and doesn't function.." Since he's assuming magic is still a thing where she was from. "There's no guarantee that your destruction here, will hold any bearing on where you are from. It would simply be a waste! If you would only take the time to learn more about the magic here then you might be able to find an alternate solution to your own problem."
"For all you know, your presence here might have already enabled this Sora to be able to wake up." There was no way to prove it or deny it, but if she had to be gone for it to occur then... for all practical purposes she was gone.

"The Organization can move between worlds. I was sent to many different worlds on missions. But I was made from memories stolen from Sora. As long as anyone remembers me, those memories become a part of me. Without them, he will never wake up. I was made to be a copy of Sora's Nobody. I have to be forgotten, and we both have to die to return to him in order for him to be able to stop Xemnas from creating Kingdom Hearts."
Really, it all made sense and was obvious.

"So you had stated previously, but I'm not sure that this one is within their reach." They were all drawn here at the same time, under the same power. "From, memories? How- is this possible?" A person would need a body to function, it would take more than memories...... unless. "Is Sora sharing the same vessel as you...?"
Sadly, no. You're still missing it Atem. Sleep could just be a codename for unconsciousness and Atem used to share a body with Yugi in which onely one of them could be in control at the time. If it had been the case it would have been more relate-able. "................." A copy of a Nobody? Come again? They just weren't getting anywhere with this, and he was already having trouble feeling his limbs."Let's try this again...." Taking a deep breath. "You're all elements of the same person who have become divided and your wish is to return to the original source so that he is able to wake up and stop this Xemnas from some evil aim?" Really, he didn't know what was bad about Kingdom Hearts either... so.... guesswork.
It was about as clear as the sky during a sandstorm for someone from a world without heartless and nobodies.

"A Heartless had to have stolen Sora's heart for a Nobody to form. I guess Riku and Namineé must have gotten it back somehow." Any member of the Organization would probably have killed to learn how. One more way she failed, she supposed. She never thought to ask... even for Axel's sake. And for him, she should have.
"Then the Organization took his Nobody and some of his sleeping memories and used them to create a copy. Me. But I was a failed experiment."
no subject
Stealing someone's heart didn't sound positive, that's for sure. "... and what exactly is a heartless?" Daring to ask although he had a feeling he shouldn't. At least he had gleaned enough information from her that he didn't think she was purely suicidal. She had some cause for it though he didn't like the idea. Sacrificing yourself so that someone else might live- was actually a lot closer to some of the things he'd engaged in. Cough. Seeing it from an outsider's perspective he could better understand Kaiba's ire later toward fate, and Yugi's lack of closure.
"I see no failure here, just someone whose had the weight of the world thrust onto their shoulders." To which he could sympathize. They weren't so dissimilar. ".... but I still think further knowledge about your current situation is needed. If I'm wrong, there's probably a spell you could learn to wipe all memories of you from our minds, but if I'm right... maybe you wouldn't have to do everything alone, maybe in this alternate dimension there could be some sort of life for you..."
He reached out again this time placing his hand on hers. "Please. Just give it a chance... there's nothing you can do for your dimension at present."
no subject
"I don't even have my own magic here. How am I supposed to learn memory magic? It's useless. I'm just me. I can't even do what I was designed for, properly. All I can do is be forgotten and die. If.. if you think learning the spell is that easy.... then you do it. Please. Kill me, and erase everyone's memories of me. Send me to Sora... where I belong."
no subject
There was a question he couldn't answer since he had no way of knowing what spells truly existed here, at least not yet. "I told you before, I won't do that." An edge in his voice suggested his disgust in being asked to do the unthinkable a second time.
"I can't force you to see reason, but I won't leave you to this foolishness." Even if everything she said was true, there's no telling where Sora's memories would wind up should she perish. Apparently she hadn't considered that the memories might simply be lost at that point. Then this Sora she wished to save would never wake up. "Capricius, remain here....". A crystal about the size of a fist presented itself and hovered over the girl. "I will be heading back to the school while our tracks are still fresh, but the staff will be informed that you are here." At this point all he could do was leave it up to the authorities.
Capricius gave a few chimes as a response. He apparently wanted to take out the middle man and lift the girl himself. She was light and he could easily convey her back to the building.
If he leaves, she will flee, familiar or no.
She shook with rage and fear as he said that he was going to get help. Whatever that odd crystal thing was... she could escape it, she was sure. She refused to still be here whenever he got back with other people. That so many had seen her at all was already bad. She refused to make it worse.
Everything was on the line. She couldn't fail again. She couldn't. For Roxas. For Axel. For everyone. Riku said that this was the only way that she could help them. Naminé agreed. Xion had to vanish.
Then she would be followed.
Turning to leave, he had only taken a few steps when he halted to Capricius calling. Something told him that the creature didn't want him to go. Perhaps it could tell that the girl was ready to bolt.
Gritting his teeth, and balling a fist he issued an apology next," I'm sorry- but ... I can't let you do as you please. Not now that I'm aware of your aim." Was he doing the right thing? It was questionable. She might know more about how magic worked here and in her own realm than he did but his conscious wouldn't let him turn a blind eye to it. "Capricius..... " Saying it's name was all it needed as it used it's telekinesis to hoist Xion off the ground. It wasn't dignified but it was the best he could come up with. "We're returning to the school now..." Then he could turn her over to the staff.
OMG!
He's really sorry okay. LOL
Uh huh. Suuuuure.
That's what they all say!
Hey, she didn't claim she was innocent...
No she didn't
