March Event and Intro Log
One of them seems to have had it. The renegade golem bursts into Kedrigan Hall -- interrupting classes and disrupting labwork to furiously seize students and scrub every last scrap of mud and dirt off of them. All the halls have been locked off with "Under Cleaning" signs, and anyone who enters them meets with the golem's wrath, as it violently plays a pre-recorded message about not interfering with groundskeeping and deploys a giant claw-like tool to grab the interloper and put them back on unforbidden ground. The professors, who are after all completely immune to the golem's attention by its very design, seem to think this is a good learning opportunity for students. Is it?
"Of course I'm sure," the second says confidently. Whipping out a wand from a holster on her belt, she sweeps her wand through the air gracefully, pronouncing several Osmarian sigils as she draws them. Probably. "See, that's a blue cloud--" Said blue cloud, which puffs into being as the last syllable left her lips, abruptly doubls in size. Then it doubles in size again. And again. The upperclassmen, who have been in Diatu for several years and know exactly what this sort of thing means, don't hesitate. Not even stopping to share a glance between them, they run like crazy, leaving the growing cloud behind just as classes let out and students begin to enter the halls. But... surely it doesn't have any weird and wacky side effects, right?
This month, the team has developed a Sundering spell that they warn is crude and unpolished, because the Curriculum is so unpracticed. They hope it will connect to your home worlds and establish a magical link they can build off of to open further passages. No promises! And to those who do undergo this spellwork... it has a certain side effect of confusion, as brief images from your home world flicker across your vision for a few hours afterwards.

- If you thread out one or more scenes based on the confusion from "Research on the Sundered", respond to the comment on this post with a link to that thread. The results of this will be revealed next month! (It is, we're afraid, not a regain, lest your participation be based solely on that hope!)

"I completely agree," Apparently Saya was on the same page. The Golem might not mean any real harm but the size and strength difference could lead to unintended accidents. That's when he thought about a spell they had been trying to cover a day or so ago. "If you could stall him just a little bit longer... I think I have an idea." Though he did hate to ask.
Snatching up a spell book, he flipped frantically through the pages. Stopping on one he pressed a finger to the page and read over the material.

"Don't take too long." Since, again, there was only so much room to maneuver. Saya quickly hurried around a couple of desks with Bonesy at her side. She made sure to keep them between her and it in the hopes that it'd buy her some time, but the golem didn't seem to care about the state of the classroom anymore. It was more concerned with them, which... was definitely going to be a problem. "How's it going over there?" She asks as she casts another force push spell on it, knocking it back to the front of the classroom as she starts reciting math equations to forge the desks together for a barrier.

"I'll be as quick as I can," Realizing that he was asking a lot of her, considering he'd essentially started this whole thing. Pouring over the book he tried to take in the swishes and flicks that were required as well as the accompanying incantation. At least he had some practice with it, but not enough to have perfect retention of it. "Just another moment..... ha!" Then he slammed the tome closed and discarded it onto one of the desks. Striding up to the barrier of desks he stayed behind them, as he held his wand aloft.
"Now you'll wish you had picked on someone your own size," The line was intended for the Golem and honestly Atem knew it wasn't the best he could have come up with, but it would suffice. Drawing a design in the air he spoke the incantation with clarity and confidence. The symbol glowed where it was carved growing in brilliance until Atem had to shield his eyes from the light. When it dissipated, the Golem seemed to have been gone. Rather than going around the desks, Atem placed his hands to one and pushed himself over it, then he stooped down to snatch something.
When he stood up he was holding something pinched between his fingers that was moving quite rapidly, trying to free itself. It was the Golem, now quite pint-sized. "I don't think he'll be able to bother anyone in this form."

"Heh." She snickers, walking over to a nearby shelf to modify some random bits and bobbles into a container to hold the golem, several equations and formulas uttered under her breath before she presents it to Atem. "One down and probably more to go."

Looking to the container and getting on sight what it was for, he gently slipped the Golem inside. "There's only one way to know."
"Ready to look for more?"
