March Event and Intro Log
One of them seems to have had it. The renegade golem bursts into Kedrigan Hall -- interrupting classes and disrupting labwork to furiously seize students and scrub every last scrap of mud and dirt off of them. All the halls have been locked off with "Under Cleaning" signs, and anyone who enters them meets with the golem's wrath, as it violently plays a pre-recorded message about not interfering with groundskeeping and deploys a giant claw-like tool to grab the interloper and put them back on unforbidden ground. The professors, who are after all completely immune to the golem's attention by its very design, seem to think this is a good learning opportunity for students. Is it?
"Of course I'm sure," the second says confidently. Whipping out a wand from a holster on her belt, she sweeps her wand through the air gracefully, pronouncing several Osmarian sigils as she draws them. Probably. "See, that's a blue cloud--" Said blue cloud, which puffs into being as the last syllable left her lips, abruptly doubls in size. Then it doubles in size again. And again. The upperclassmen, who have been in Diatu for several years and know exactly what this sort of thing means, don't hesitate. Not even stopping to share a glance between them, they run like crazy, leaving the growing cloud behind just as classes let out and students begin to enter the halls. But... surely it doesn't have any weird and wacky side effects, right?
This month, the team has developed a Sundering spell that they warn is crude and unpolished, because the Curriculum is so unpracticed. They hope it will connect to your home worlds and establish a magical link they can build off of to open further passages. No promises! And to those who do undergo this spellwork... it has a certain side effect of confusion, as brief images from your home world flicker across your vision for a few hours afterwards.

- If you thread out one or more scenes based on the confusion from "Research on the Sundered", respond to the comment on this post with a link to that thread. The results of this will be revealed next month! (It is, we're afraid, not a regain, lest your participation be based solely on that hope!)

Kamala wasn't exactly thrilled to have been taken from her home - from her whole reality, it seemed - but she couldn't deny that there was something exciting about the experience. A different world where she could learn magic was pretty cool. If only she still had her usual powers... Still, Kamala had every intention to treat this as a learning experience in every way. After all, it was a school.
And, just when she'd started at Coles Academic as a freshman, she knew the first step was to get a lay of the land. Things were mostly going well, and she'd even found the Ka dormitory. The classrooms proved more challenging, and it wasn't too long before she had to stop someone passing by and ask, "Hey, can you help me find something?"
Golem on the Loose
No powers. No back-up. No problem.
Kamala wasn't about to let this rouge Golem pester her new classmates, even if it was one of the cooler things she'd ever seen. She may not be a polymorph anymore, but she could still put up a fight. So Kamala unclasped the cloak she'd had upon arrival as she faced the creature.
"Cover the eyes!" That would be a good start. Except... The cloak, which had mostly obeyed her orders until now, didn't do anything.
No problem? ...Make that maybe problem.
Bala-inlota Parade
When the time came for something decidedly less stressful than Golem attacks, Kamala was enjoying herself. She couldn't afford anything besides a snack here and there, but that was okay. She was honestly more interested in the free entertainment happening on most every street corner. After watching one particularly impressive performer show off some magic, she turned to the nearest person with a grin.
"Isn't this cool?"

Said announcement comes by way of a foot-square sphere rolling at the golem's feet, first, though it's...gesturing angrily behind it, where a gangly teenager is also charging the golem as if he's a linebacker in tryouts for the football team.
That...might not have been his best idea, but it's really too late to peel off now, and so Cliff jumps for it to wrap his arms around its waist, while Rounder fouls its feet--it may have just flipped him the bird.
"I don't know what the plan is!" Cliff yelled as the golem tried to pluck him off. He's barely able to wiggle out of its grip, for now, but he's not managing to trip it yet, even with his familiar's help.

"It's not even chivalry or anything, you can't distract it by yourself. So Rounder and I are gonna help. Besides, I'm tough. Not as tough as at home," and here he grins, "But I can take a few hits if I have to."

Then she stood tall, a hand on her hip. "But if you're sure, let's do this."

By now he was half circling around the golem in what looked like a wrestler's crouch. His familiar--the marble ball--was still under its feet, continuing its attempts to trip the golem up. Rounder's success was limited, however.
"I figure I'll try and take out its legs," he mused. "You go for the top? I'm not sure how far we'll get, but hopefully we can tangle it up somehow. Though if you've got an idea, I'm all for it."
no subject
"Yeah, that works," she said, nodding once in Cliff's direction. Then, she made a grab for one of the golem's arms, and tried to scramble up towards its head.

Exploration
Because even after being here for a month, she was still trying to get used to campus.

She rattled off the room number listed on the schedule in her hand, then sighed. "I don't mind school, you know? But you'd think that the magical one would have some kind of... Magical transportation system in it, or something."
no subject
Glancing at the schedule to make sure she'd heard the room number right, she thought for a moment. "Well...I'm not sure exactly where that is...but I can help you look for it."

She glanced at the schedule again, thinking. "Hmm...It might be a bit to walk, especially if we don't know where it is."

"I can try, but I may not be much help. I haven't been here very long."

She scratched at her neck with a laugh. "Anyway, if you do happen to know where the Fantastics classroom is...?"
bala-inlota parade
Caught off-guard, Lys tries to speak and then stops herself, just barely managing to avoid spraying crumbs everywhere. Face flushed, choking only a little, she settles for a nod and a thumbs-sup instead. Courtesy demands some kind of response, after all.]
no subject
Easy there; don't choke on my behalf. Seriously, though, are you okay?
no subject
Whew! Sorry about that. [Just in case an apology was required, she's not the best at judging such things.] I'm fine, I'm fine. I was just gonna say that you're right, this is really neat!
[She gestures at the parade around them with her other hand, which is holding yet another sweetroll.]
I mean, have you ever seen anything like this before? I sure haven't!

Those must be some pretty big towns. [Or maybe even a port city, the likes of which she's heard about but never visited.] I've never seen anything bigger than a harvest fair, so something like this.....it's hard to decide what to look at next, you know?
