Plus one Class thread - OTA

Who: Minamimoto and whatever unfortunates wander into his classes
Where: The maths classroom, his... uh... renovated arts classroom, and the field for P.E.
When: Weekdays on and off all month.
Warnings: bad math puns and threats of erasure.

The walls had the smell of fresh paint. The walls were mostly a solid colour, but one was silver, one was back, and one was red. He was back in his trash heap, reading a book while he waited for Link.

Link couldn't help but wonder what Navi would think of all of this.

Probably that he was being an idiot.

He examined the walls, wondering if there was some sort of significance to the color choices.

He dropped down. "Ready to get complicated?" he asked, with a grin.

Link nodded. "Alright. Sure."

He reached into the trash heap and grabbed up a protractor. "Catch," he said, tossing it to him like a throwing star.

Link had excellent reflexes and caught it with ease.

"What's this?"

"Protractor." He went to the whiteboard and drew a triangle. "That'll help you figure any angle, so let's get measuring."

Link examined the tool for a moment. "How?"

He took it back and pressed it to the board and demonstrated how to line up the base and the swing arm with the lines. "The number here, is the angle."

Link nodded, noting how and where to line up for which angle.

"Now remember what I was saying in class about 360?"

Link shook his head. "Not exactly."

It hadn't made much sense at the time, so, he hadn't really retained it.

"Alright, then listen up." Now that he knew that Link was smart, there was no way he was letting him skate. He grabbed some spray paint and drew a right angle on the wall. He swapped colours and drew the inner arc. Then a third colour for the outer arc. "Any time 1 + 1 lines meet, they make two angles, an interior and an exterior. The two angles together will always make a circle." He painted over both arcs with yet another colour, circling the point. "And a circle is always three hundred and sixty degrees. Which means if you ever know the size of one angle you know the angle of the other with simple subtraction. So, you know one angle is 180 degrees, what is the other?"

Link tilted his head. "One hundred eighty?"

He clapped him on the shoulder. "To think last week you would have given a zero sum answer. Alright. Back to the board. Give me both angles using the protractor to measure one of them only."

Link nodded and carefully set up the protractor to measure.

At least he was doing better in one of his classes.

Minamimoto would wait and watch, mentally patting himself on the back. Clearly he was an amazing teacher.

After a moment of measuring he wrote down the correct answer, although, the spray-paint did give him some trouble at first.

Another shoulder clap. "There you go, you've figured out the angle on this problem."

And there's a somewhat dorky smile, because, he is not used to praise.

"Now, tell me," he tossed himself back against the junk heap like it was a sofa. "Where could you use each of the things we worked on outside of school?"

Link looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Probably in building something, like a table."

He nodded. “Building almost every zetta thing. Tables, buildings, bridges. Ready for the next skill that goes with angles?”
