"Alright you Zetta sons of digits, listen up, or prepare to be iterated!"

A new trash heap filled the center of the classroom.

"Alright you zeros, time to add some beauty to this world. Everyone is to go out and find something someone else threw away and bring it back here. We're going to show how to subtract the garbage to add to our art. NOW GO!"

"Alright, listen up you factoring hectopascals. Today is all about combat. That means you, plus a large stick trying to subtract the other person's large stick. Pair up."

And of course the class we've all been waiting for, math. On each student's desk is a photocopy of the circle described here. Minamimoto was sitting on his desk. "Now as any zero knows, Pi is a little over three. Specifically," and then he ranted off the first three hundred digits of pie, from memory, without taking a breath.

When he finished he looked at all of them. "That circle breaks that fundamental law of math. SO. The problem for you factoring hectopascals is to explain it. Best mathematical proof that makes sense of it gets a plus to their grade and a special extra credit reward. Get working."

He was determined to figure it out himself, of course, and didn't expect any of them to get the answer, but one never knew where one could learn new math tricks....

This actually looked fun. Maybe this school thing wouldn't be awful, after all.

Link obediently picked up a stick and started looking for a partner.

Link wrote carefully on a piece of paper. Becoz it is not a circle, it is a Triangle.

And then he put his head down on his desk to take a little nap.

Seeing one of the kids without a partner immediately, he walked over, bullhorn still in hand. "Find a partner means even numbers, any reason you seem to be odd?" he asked. Through the megaphone.

And would get rapped on the head hard by a ruler. "Subtract from your nap time and add to your focus!" He slapped the ruler on the page. "Where do you factor this has three sides with angles equal exactly One hundred plus eighty degrees?"

An equation for you, Sho.

Megaphone + Hylian Ears + Sensitive Hearing = One Stick to a Megaphone.

It was an automatic reflex on Link's part, whipping around with the stick, making contact with the megaphone. The Hylian was mortified when he realized he'd just came within an inch of smacking his professor with a weapon.

"Um. Sorry...?"

"Ow!"

Link rubbed his head and winced. It's obvious he has three triangles creating a third, large triangle on the back of his left hand, and that's likely where the idea came from.

"I don't know, it's probably near a volcano or something."

There would be a small muffled explosion between them, as the megaphone went flying. He waved his fingers scowling at it.
Guess who had turned that thing into a magical murder weapon?

"You Zetta son of a digit! Drop and give me twenty!"

"Subtract the snark, zero. Get series or prepare to be iterated!"

Link looked confused. He had no idea what his professor was actually asking for, but, he carefully sat on the gym floor, and dug some of the local currency out of his gym shoes.

Twenty, to be exact, which he held out to Sho, obediently, if utterly baffled.

"Look, back home no one ever asked me about the temperature of shapes." Link only just managed to muffle a yawn.

"Maybe the circle comes from a different world like most of us?"

He rubbed his face. Every zero here had to be different. "Twenty! Not money! Digits of pi you factoring hectopascal!"

"Tempat...... If you think you are being funny, you are seriously in negative brains. Listen up, zero." He went to the board and drew a triangle, a square, and a circle. Then he drew arcs for the angles in the corners of the first two. "EVery line has an angle that shows how much it bends on the inside and one showing how much it bends on the outside. The degree is the size of the angle." He slapped the ruler against the board, on one of the corners of the square. "A square has angles that are called right angles. Every square has four angles that look exactly like these, no matter how zetta long or short the sides are. Every angle that is exactly like this is 90 degrees. That is a right angle. Add all four angles up? 90 + 90 + 90 + 90. Even you can factor that. It is 180X2, or 360."

He smacked the triangle. "This little angle on top is called acute, as it less than 90 degrees. This angle," he smacked the widest one "Is larger than 90 but less than 180. That means it is obtuse. Kind of like you."

"Digits of....wait, do you mean that weird code someone put on the bulletin board?"

Link thought for a moment. "Um. That was....3.14159. But, that's as far as I got, until I could figure out what it's for."

"Nope. Not trying to be funny. Okay, so, it's a measurement thing, thanks for explaining."

He'll let the obtuse thing slide, considering his formal schooling was non-existent at this point, and he'd been told to be polite to professors.

He glared. "3.14159265358979323846!" he barked. "Learn your number chains, you factoring hectopascal!"

He nodded, and since the kid wasn't arguing, continued. He drew an angle on its own. He drew the arc inside the acute angle. "This is a 20 degree angle, acute. This however," he drew the arc on the OUTSIDE of the line. "Is reflexive. An angle above 180. 180, by the way is a straight line, and not the sort you use for jokes. Unless it is a really good joke. If you know either of these angles, you can calculate the other. Can you guess how?"

"....what do numbers have to do with physical education?"

"Uh. No?"

At least he was honest.

"I'm the teacher," he pointed out. "So I can add whatever to the class that I want. So you, you zero, are going to do 3.14 laps or you will be Erased!"

He drew a straight line and drew an arc over the top of it. "180." He drew an arc on the bottom. "180." He then drew over both arcs to emphasize them together. "360." He went back to the acute angle and drew the arcs connecting. "360. So if one is a 20 degree angle, the other is....."

Link shifted his stick back to his left hand. "I can run laps."

He glanced at a fellow classmate. "Does he threaten to kill everyone?" The other student looked like a deer in the headlights and turned back to their partner.

He started his laps, still holding the stick, ready to defend himself if he had to.

"Er...80?"

He hoped that was right, but, this was somewhat beyond Saria and her groups of acorns lessons.

He would stand and watch a moment before going to "help" one of the other pairs. And the answer was yes.

"What does 80 plus 20 equal?" he asked, dryly. Unimpressed.

"Probably one hundred."

Link shook his head, tightening his grip on the stick as he ran past his professor. He'd been told to be respectful and polite with his professors, but, he was fairly certain he didn't have to extend that courtesy if the guy attacked.

"Math is math, subtract the probably. It is one hundred, you zetta son of a digit."

He would glance to make sure the boy found a partner when he was done with laps.

"That's what I said."

"You said probably. Math is more a science than science is. Now, if that equals 100, how much is missing?"

"Er...eighty?"

He twitched. "The two angles make a circle, a circle is three sixty, so if you only accounted for a hundred, what the factoring hectopascal are you missing? This is basic stuff you zetta moron!"

"Yeah, well, I've never been to school before."

Link shrugged. "Two-hundred-and-sixty."

"Well you're here now. Alright then, so if the grand total equals three sixty and one of the two angles is acute at twenty, the other has to be reflexive at...."

He had plans for this kid now. Never been to school? How zetta lame! That was garbage. Time to CRUNCH add it to the heap.

"Twenty."

Or at least, he sincerely hoped.

"THREE FORTY!" he snapped. "Which is the time you will be meeting in my office next week!"

Fantastic.

Link managed to stifle a groan. "Which day?"

"Monday."

Link wrote himself a note, reasonably sure that this was not going to go well.

He nodded and went back to teaching the class.
