OTA - Xion catch all for Mid Feb (CW: suicide mentions)

This is not how we stay hidden!

Well, Xion has come to accept that killing herself is pointless until she can find a way to erase people's memories of her here. But she is still trying to actively avoid letting people make memories of her, so she is mostly avoiding people. She hasn't been to her dorm, she might have ghosted into a few classes late if the door was left open, the stand in the shadows near the door, but would flee if spotted. In town she also tries to stick to the shadows and stay hidden.

Which works passably well for the first day or two. Until the incident. For some reason someone thought that she was someone else, some singer or... something. Some Somebody. They screamed a name, and when she looked over, confused, they took that to mean they were right. Next thing Xion knew a mob was forming, screaming that name and... chasing her. Because no way was she standing still for that, and even with her Keyblade and powers...what could she do? These weren't Nobodies, these weren't Heartless, she couldn't ATTACK. So she RAN.

Anyone want to help a Nobody?

Sunsets and surprises

So those who have already met Xion probably know that she thinks everything would be better if she were dead and forgotten. This isn't to say that her idea of this is groundless, but it is certainly concerning. So what might also be concerning is that she has developed a habit of exploring to find ledges and rooftops on tall buildings, looking for one where she could sit and watch the sunset.

But she's never told anyone this is what she is doing, or why she is wandering around ledges near the end of each day.... So it might look a little concerning...

"I have no need for magic cake. You are welcome to go get some." So she could get away.

"Well, what are you in the mood for?" Nope, still hanging around. "Magic ice cream? Magic hamburgers?"

She had been eyeing the exit, trying to figure out when the best time to make a break for it would be, but at the words ice cream something shifted. HEr whole body tensed for just a moment. A subtle thing, perhaps, but given she was the object of Webby's focus, the fact that she responded to ice cream might be hard to miss.

That was quite the change! Excited, Webby ran up to get in front of Xion, eyes glittering. "Magic ice cream, you wanna try and find some with me?"

No. Yes.


She shouldn't. She didn't want to get to know this odd person. Didn't want to be part of her memories. Didn't want to make more friends.

But... hadn't coming up here been her trying to get back that small part? That small moment some days when she could almost feel like she knew what happiness might be?

She closed her eyes, head dropping. She wanted ice cream. She wanted to sit up on a ledge, watching the sunset, eating ice cream. But without Roxas and Axel... was there even a point...?

Ice cream might help her hurt less, but....

But she wasn't supposed to be finding ways to hurt less. She was supposed to be finding ways to disappear.

Oh! Right. Ice cream... ice cream at the end of the day had to be earned. By working. Well, there was that one day off but that was different.

"I haven't earned that yet."

Maybe she could get this person to help her find the spell that would make everyone here forget her. Then she could have ice cream, cast the spell, and find a way to return to Sora.

Oh boy, a quest on top of another quest! Double quest time! Webby was getting really excited now!

"Well, then how do we earn it? By getting really good grades on our tests? Finding a secret treasure? ... Asking politely?"

"By finding the right spell and someone to cast it. Once we have the spell that is today's mission, we can have ice cream and watch the sunset." One last time. And even if it wasn't with Axel and Roxas... Well, she would be thinking of them the whole time, so that would have to count for something, right?

[woo_oo]

Fun, fun, fun! "What's the spell? I'm so excited! I can't wait to try it! I hope it's something big and glittery! What's the spell? Or do we not know? Do we have clues?"

She keeps firing off questions, assuming anyone can keep up with her.

"A spell to make everyone who ever met me...forget me." She said the words as if it were any other mission, not the prelude to suicide.

You know. Again.

Webby paused, recalling how Xion had said something similar when they first met. "Hmmm... oh! So you can become a super spy? That would be really useful for sneaking in and out of places and no one knew you were there!"

Fine. Sure. They'd go with that.

Were all people on her world this exhausting?

"Then let's get searching! I say we start with the library!" Webby began walking on ahead, eager to start the quest.

She sighed but nodded. She didn't want to spend more time with anyone, but if they found the spell, then the time spent wouldn't matter. They wouldn't remember her. She would be the only one to suffer. Which would just motivate her to finish what she needed to do....
