Orientation Week/Magic Mayhem
The campus of Diatu Magicademy stretches out before you, confused and chaotic and surging with energy. Where are you headed? To your dorm or suite, to get settled? Maybe you need some food now? Wherever you head off to as your first stop, you have to deal with the snow. Helpful or proud students are passing out various magical remedies to get you where you need to be -- umbrellas with a nasty tendency to dump snow directly onto other people nearby, an iron tube that projects fire but appears to have no off switch, snowshoes that keep you slightly too high off the snow and thus provide no friction for stopping...
Familiar Follies
Familiars do not harass or harm each other as a rule -- but that doesn't mean they have no pecking order, and the week of Orientation finds them all jockeying for status and position as suits them. This can take the form of pranks, displays, competitions, or simple physical assertiveness towards each other. The goal is simply to be seen as superior by the student body. New wizards especially may find themselves surprised at this behavior of their familiars...
Research On the Sundered
With the arrival of the Sundered come those wizards engaged in research on their presence here, now set to investigate what brought them here and how to get them home. All Sundered students are asked to meet with representatives of the research team, to introduce themselves and relate what they will of their homes. In addition, the team requests samples of blood, hair, and skin -- carefully magically collected, and the researchers will sign in the presence of the Sundered a Glyphed contract that forbids them from using the samples for a purpose they know will be harmful. (They quite understand your reasons to be suspicious of this collection! And they will not compel anyone who refuses even given these conditions.)
Furthermore, they request to perform a few spells on you for testing purposes. It is, quite regrettably, possible that if you consent to this testing, you will come away with a temporary side effect -- a slight change of hair color, traveling two steps for every one you take, one hand moving about a second behind the arm it should be attached to, or being ridden by a penguin. No need to worry, these changes won't last more than a day!

[The girl exhibited a personal bias towards hairstyles that Hel could appreciate] Your hairstyle isn't bad either. [Pink as a color was appealing to her aesthetics.] Let's call it discipline.... [Payback sounded too much like something her former classmates might seek and a bit petty] I wouldn't mind teaching them a lesson... [in other words, yes]

[ she flips her hair and gives hel a smirk. ] Thanks, and sure… that works for me. [ oh~ how smart. ] That way we’re not in the wrong. [ clearly we’re taking the high road. those poor upperclassman don’t know what they’re in store for; two feisty girls with pigtails. ]

Kind of like this. [.. and the beginning of Ragnarok.] None taken. [She was familiar with the phrase, and found it more or less amusing] I would be concerned about the ramifications to your world. [Not that there might be much to be done to stop it] If there has been some breakdown between the natural order, your world itself might be on the verge of collapse. [To that she could relate, and sympathize]

She liked the style and color] We were never in the wrong, but this way they know it as well. [Those students were the ones to create chaos in the first place. They're all going to wish they hadn't crossed paths with these two] Which dorm have you been assigned? [Perhaps it might have been the same one, which would make plotting their reven-discipline easier. If not that would be ok too]

Exactly, and I really don't think there's going to be much can be done to turn it around. It looks like it's going to have to run its course, and then whoever's left at the end of it, assuming there is anybody, is going to have to try to rebuild things from the ground up. [ which has happened a couple of times with various plagues, but they generally weren't on a scale of this magnitude. ]
No, but I'm sure these jerks knew they were, so they've probably got at least a dozen excuses and twisted stories ready for when somebody finally calls them out on their shit. We were just helping. [ she crinkles her nose and scowls. ] Yeah, okay. [ saya rolls her eyes. ] Purifel. And you? [ they could always meet outside the dorms to scheme, though being assigned to the same one would have just been convenient. ]

You're probably right. They wouldn't be needlessly endangering others if they didn't already have an alibi in mind. [Their actions were bold, and open- there's no possible way the staff wouldn't hear of it.] Gekronus Maius. [... Which apparently she would be occupying by herself from the sounds of the responses so far.] All of these names are going to take some getting used to...

Exactly. [ she spared them another glance. ] They might be idiots, but they've perfected being idiots. [ so she really can't wait to hear what sort of stupid shit comes out of their mouths. ] Pity. Idiots in practice and in actions. [This was certainly a switch, having someone not so quick to defend the targets of Hel's displeasure. It was kind of refreshing]
