Settling in. Open to All

Living Quarters--room 042. Loki was...less than pleased by the items he'd been given, or that he had only a single room. It was better than the dormitories though, and he had made do with far less before. Still, the house robes...Red and Black, while nice, were not his colors.

His mind was already turning with the beginnings of plans. First priority was to learn the magic of this world. Apparently it was more effective than his own, and that annoyed him greatly. So learn this world's magic, get the lay of the land so to speak. Learn more about the major powers. Survive.

Find him in the common hall of the living Quarters, the Library checking books, or checking out Makerion Keep--since he is "House Ka". Feel free to mistake him for a different house with his green, gold, and black outfit however.

Personal Business--closed to Roisin Murphy

While settling in, Loki had not forgotten he'd agreed to help someone here. Roisin had managed to find most of the loopholes, while bargaining with him, and he was pleased. It was always more fun to work with clever people. Besides which, he truly did want to help her for now. Learning more about her unwilling passenger was necessary for his own purposes. Could the demon be friend or foe? How much of a threat was he?

The first step to doing all of this, would be learning more about how the demon was bound. Which meant taking a look at her tattoos. Sketching them, analyzing the way the magic wove through them--he could tell the general pattern, but not the details of the weaving yet. If the spells were 'clothes' she wore, he could tell the clothing was meant to protect and contain, like a coat-keeping body heat in. But the 'how' it kept the body heat in was what he was missing.

So he'll be looking for Rosh, while also learning his way around the campus.

"It's nothing to worry about, truly." Loki replied, an easy smile on his face and waving a hand. Truly it was as so much dust. "I'm Loki. Of Asgard."

A name, well that was helpful, wasn't it? So he nodded with something akin to a smile, because that was a work in progress as well. "I am Hendrik of Heliodor." Technically he was from Zwaardsrust, but he grew up and had spent most of his life in the kingdom of Heliodor.

"Well met, Hendrik of Heliodor." Loki said with a nod of his head in greeting. "You'll have to forgive me if I've never heard of that land." Land? Realm? World?

Loki was noting that here was someone who hadn't heard of him before. Adding that to a list in his head of those who apparently had some version of him in their world's myths, and those who didn't. Filed away for later.

The purple head shook. "As I have never heard of Asgard but there is nothing to forgive." It was a different feel to never have heard of a place and he was more than sure that place did not exist in Erdrea. But then again people from all sorts of different worlds were the norm here as he heard learned time and again the last time that he was here at the Magic Academy.

Again, Loki waved it off--nothing that needed forgiveness. "Were you here before, or are you new to all of this as well?"

The knight nodded. "I was here before. But I did not see you the last time if my memory serves me correctly. Are you new to these halls?"

Surely someone as well spoken and well mannered Hendrik would have recalled.

"Correct. And I am just as surprised as anyone to find myself here." Again that easy smile. "But, being here, I'm not unhappy with the prospect of learning new magic."

"Hmm." Hendrik replied, with a small lowering of his head. But then it came right back up. "If we have showed up here, there is little doubt that our friends from back home may appear at any time as well."

He and the Luminary had returned together which was a relief. Norberto and Erik were new to the place, but just as happy to see the Luminary as Hendrik had been. But the last part about learning new magic? This man and Jasper would indeed get along well.

"So the 'sundered' as they call us can just appear at anytime? Has anyone tried to track and see if there's a pattern to it?" Loki's head tilted while he thought.

Anyone showing up... That was... Honestly he wasn't sure how he felt about that. There were certain people whom would make his life difficult if they showed up. And one person, whom--while it would make his life difficult if he showed up--Loki would actually like to see again.

The knight nodded. "Yes, we can appear here at any time and from any time point from our own world even if they are different. But no one that I know of has kept track as to whether or not there has been a pattern."

And the ducks had been the only ones that kept appearing for whatever rhyme or reason.

For his own selfish reasons Hendrik hoped that Jasper would appear, but not as the oath breaker that he had been in their world. However, he carried so much of the guilt and if he had only listened maybe Jasper could have turned out quite different. So that was the knight's battle plan should his old childhood friend appear here in this place that was far better suited for him.

Then that was two things Loki needed to do. The first more important than the other--be on the lookout for anyone from his 'world' as it were. Truly Sundering was powerful if it could draw them from any point in time as well. Did that simply create a new reality, or would time simply stop for everyone? What if the person was 'dead', such as himself?

...could Sundering allow him to go back? Change the outcome of certain actions by letting him make different decisions? Loki knew he'd be brooding over the possibilities later, and Sundering just became one of his top study priorities.

Attempting to track the sundered and their arrivals, try to find a pattern, would just feed into that study.

"Interesting." Was all Loki said about his thoughts, still with an affable smile. "And what of you? How do you feel about this whole situation?"

To the question the knight shook his head. "It matters not how I feel as I can do nothing to change arriving here yet again." Which the change in attitude was definitely different than the last time he was here since at that point Mordegon had not been defeated as of yet. "But when I go back, I have a kingdom to help restore. So whatever this school has to offer in the meantime is merely time spent before fulfilling that duty as I did not recall this place back there."

Hendrik figured maybe he was spoiled since he'd been here before and had gone home. But whatever forces that had sought to bring him back along with his charge, well he figured there had to be a reason.

"So, when we leave, we don't recall anything from here?" That was troublesome. There had to be a way around that. "And what do you plan to focus on while here, if it will all be for nothing if you return?" Loki was genuinely curious.

"No." Hendrik replied, shaking his head. "And I only recalled it upon my return to this place." And then there was a small smile. "I will focus on becoming a better swordsman and will offer once again to teach armed combat."

He really didn't mind being here too much and Heliodor would definitely be rebuilt to its former glory once he got home.

His first statement was most definitely troublesome... There had to be a way around it. And Loki would find that way around it, if it existed.

"Only sword, or do you teach other weapons too?"

"Sword, axe and shield." Hendrik replied. "And what of you? You have a warrior's air about you. Or is magic and schoolwork more suited to your tastes?" He could admit that he was curious about the man who had been kind enough to take more than a moment out of his day to speak to a simple knight.

A warrior's air huh? That was a new one for Loki. Perhaps it was simply the result of all he'd been through--he was one who survived. At least until very recently. "It's true that I favor magic more, but I'm not incapable at all of fighting if needed. I favor daggers, though I'm also proficient unarmed." And with a spear, but Loki saw no need to mention all that he could do right away. "Mostly I was trained by those about your size and build, so I've had to learn how to be smart." There was a twinkle in blue-green eyes. "Tricky, and clever."

He nodded. "Then perhaps some time you would care to grant me a demonstration as to how you wield your daggers." Hendrik didn't brag about being a master swordsman or anything else of that nature. He simply did what needed to be done when it needed to be. The glory and ego all went to Jasper who was a mastermind tactician. If Jasper and Hendrik were compared to a hare and turtle, Hendrik was definitely the turtle. He was the might, Jasper was the brains.

So he nodded. "Clever can sometimes win battles."

"Perhaps. It would certainly be something familiar in these unfamiliar surroundings." Loki's smile was only very slightly sharp. Blue-green eyes still twinkled, hints of mischief. "I was raised as a prince ought to be, after all."

Hendrik nodded his agreement. That was the best sort of philosophy, to find the familiar in the unfamiliar. "You are a prince?" he asked, obviously impressed. Well no wonder the man spoke so well.

Jasper and this man could be friends so very easily. No doubt they would converse for hours and never run out of topics to talk about.

And then there was a certain prince who would never have such warrior instincts and in that thought, Hendrik felt sorry for the Sultan of Gallopolis. His son Prince Faris wouldn't ever be much of a fighter.

"Second prince, but it's really no matter." It was a matter, and Loki smiled internally. No need to let on however. "I doubt it makes much difference here in any case."

The knight shook his head. "Status or rank do not matter here so far as I have found." That may have changed of course in the brief? time that he had been away but so far nothing had changed. "If it mattered at home and someone arrives from there to enforce it, it would still be of no real consequence."

"Then it is as no matter, truly." Just to reiterate the point. While it did matter to Loki, it would matter less depending if and who showed up from his world. Here, it would apparently make no difference--which chafed a bit, He would adapt, he always did.

"I will have to replace my daggers before I can give you any sort of bout, however. I hope you're not in a hurry." Still with an easy smile and affable manner.

He smiled. "They do repairs and craft other weapons as long as the shop that did so for me still remains intact." He'd had a dagger commissioned there once too but hadn't checked out to see if it was still in business or what the story was so far.

"But I am in no hurry."

"You'll have to introduce me to this shop if they are still around. And I'm sure I'll need to stay in practice with more than just magic, so I look forward to it." Blue-green eyes sparkled with mischief.
