He's been following every clue, every option, every subtle hint trying to find his dragon, coming back to the surface only for food, the occasional class, and of course, building some truly epic trash sculptures with rubbish he's found on his hunt. I mean even for him, these things are seriously weird.

But this time he had a feeling he was close. He had a few of those lightning ball things floating around him, zapping anything that might be alive to spook it so he could decide what he wanted to do about it if it was... or to see if it needed to be added to the heap. He wasn't being quiet, he wasn't being subtle. And he might have been reciting the digits of pie to the tune of transformation. Because we all love the blurring of diegetic and nondiegetic music, right?

The dragon recognizes that saying this is going to have no effect, but it is going to anyway. Though a slight hint of red flickering through its ethereal form ought to be warning enough for anyone who isn't Minamimoto.

We are not. The ghost's sheer confusion over this discussion is actually keeping it from getting angry. Even a dragon can only experience so much at once. Why would you ever think we were a team?

"Because you're my Noise and I'm your Reaper. Simple math."

I am not Noise. I am a dragon. We share no connection save that your misguided efforts provided me the opening needed to return, and you have long since exhausted any goodwill that might have engendered within me.

He leaned back a bit, but only his upper half. His hands slid into his pockets. "So. What you're saying is that if you don't join your powers with mine as partners, the only way to reign supreme is to erase you?"

FINALLY you begin to understand. The ghost dragon, with an upward look at the cavern ceiling, spreads its forepaws as if to ask what it had done to be so blessed as to finally nail this spike of information into the human's head.

"So...." he said with a grin. "All I have to do is kill you? So zetta done." And with that he blurred and shifted into his own Noise form. Leo Cantus stood before the dragon, claws stretching. "INFINITY!" he yelled and launched himself at the creature. THIS WAS GOING To BE FUN!

The dragon doesn't even bother to act, having long-ago senses the binding on the human that would turn any offensive attack he made against him before it could land on the one he was striking.
