I'M ON A HORSE
Who: Noa, Kuma the Horse, and You! (And Penguins!)
Where: VARIOUS
When: Throughout August
What: Noa's got a horse, and has to make sure that horse is Cared For
Warnings: Naaah
[RESEARCH]
[There are a number of downsides along with the upsides of Noa receiving his horse again, and among them is the fact that Noa's horse isn't exactly under the care of private staff any more. If anything she's under the care of a few penguins, and himself, and the former of the two can only do so much. Noa never had to worry about this at home- but here? Now?
This is a very real worry, so he can be spotted at a number of book stores and even the library itself, immediately going to either the store-keep or the librarian with a flat request-]
Are there any books on horse care?
[Care to ask what this is about?]
[SUPPLY]
[He has the knowledge, but knowledge only goes so far- specifically it goes as far as a store on the island that he intends to hit with everything he's got. After sorting out what he needs to supplement the fact that 'Kuma' has more or less just been chilling around on the campus grounds and eating the lawn, Noa now needs to actually buy a stock of care items.
As is typical, he has a few penguins with him. Also as typical, no one knows what the penguins are saying.]
Alright. Adelai has granted us a fairly strict budget, [Noa insists, handing each one a list.] We are therefore to find the perfect balance of quality, and cost. There will be no skimping on resources and hygene, understand?
AAAaaAAAAu!
[They probably understand.]
[OUTCOME]
[It's a long trip of research and shopping and set-up, but ultimately all of the preparation is Worth it. Kuma seems to be a Very Happy horse- she's getting a brushing (somehow) from strange small birds, and also her small boy is now giving her pieces of carrot. Things are very nice here. Strange, but nice.
It helps that Noa has been very carefully keeping her away from anything too chaotic, but that can only last so long right?
Kuma's ears perk, as does the rest of her attention, as someone comes around the corner in fact.]
Snmmfnff.
Hmm? What is it? [This of course mean's Noa's attention is also being taken.]

[His tone is dry, but is his heart TRULY in those words!
yes]no subject
no subject
...How to haggle?
...will that even be necessary if I stay in budget?
[of course noa, haggling is Always necessary]
no subject
no subject
You'll demonstrate first?
[Read: determine if they can even haggle.]
no subject
[Hope that's comforting, as is her cracking her knuckles.]
no subject
[One of the penguins shows up, holding up large horse blanket.] ...Ah, that'll work.
If it were something small it wouldn't seem right...but this is large enough that it'll be worth haggling for I suspect.
Ready then?
no subject
[She YOINKS the big blanket, and dashes for the register.]
no subject
He may be in for a surprise, as the person at cash is looking far more conversational than one who's about to immediately say no.]
no subject
It begins getting intense! Slamming hands to the counter! Speaking about trauma from other worlds! Economy through the years! Making things up!!!
... she's never actually done this before, in case it isn't obvious.]
no subject
And then...
Well the sales person isn't actually doing a lot of talking now, they're mostly just confused. Noa, for his part, is muttering to the penguins.]
...Take heed. ...this...is what you do not do...
no subject
She's finally out of breath, finished with her spiel, and gives Noa two thumbs up.
Does this other world retail have security guards, one wonders.
no subject
Well.
He's gotten a cheap blanket, apparently.
Possibly gained a Small Fear of Webby.]
no subject
So, did you take notes?
no subject
[He took notes, but not the type Webby will like.] I see you succeeded however?
no subject
One cheaper horse blanket! Adelai will be so happy!
no subject
I do think I should gather all of my shopping before trying myself of course, but I learned plenty.
[He's Definitely Not Haggling.]
