I'M ON A HORSE
Who: Noa, Kuma the Horse, and You! (And Penguins!)
Where: VARIOUS
When: Throughout August
What: Noa's got a horse, and has to make sure that horse is Cared For
Warnings: Naaah
[RESEARCH]
[There are a number of downsides along with the upsides of Noa receiving his horse again, and among them is the fact that Noa's horse isn't exactly under the care of private staff any more. If anything she's under the care of a few penguins, and himself, and the former of the two can only do so much. Noa never had to worry about this at home- but here? Now?
This is a very real worry, so he can be spotted at a number of book stores and even the library itself, immediately going to either the store-keep or the librarian with a flat request-]
Are there any books on horse care?
[Care to ask what this is about?]
[SUPPLY]
[He has the knowledge, but knowledge only goes so far- specifically it goes as far as a store on the island that he intends to hit with everything he's got. After sorting out what he needs to supplement the fact that 'Kuma' has more or less just been chilling around on the campus grounds and eating the lawn, Noa now needs to actually buy a stock of care items.
As is typical, he has a few penguins with him. Also as typical, no one knows what the penguins are saying.]
Alright. Adelai has granted us a fairly strict budget, [Noa insists, handing each one a list.] We are therefore to find the perfect balance of quality, and cost. There will be no skimping on resources and hygene, understand?
AAAaaAAAAu!
[They probably understand.]
[OUTCOME]
[It's a long trip of research and shopping and set-up, but ultimately all of the preparation is Worth it. Kuma seems to be a Very Happy horse- she's getting a brushing (somehow) from strange small birds, and also her small boy is now giving her pieces of carrot. Things are very nice here. Strange, but nice.
It helps that Noa has been very carefully keeping her away from anything too chaotic, but that can only last so long right?
Kuma's ears perk, as does the rest of her attention, as someone comes around the corner in fact.]
Snmmfnff.
Hmm? What is it? [This of course mean's Noa's attention is also being taken.]

Hm. Someone looks content.

...I really hadn't thought I would see her again...
[Honestly the question of where the horse went after Noa died is probably one they should both not dwell on.]
no subject
{ He is so not a horse person, but she's...interesting, he guesses. He still keeps a respectful distance. He'd never been a pet person before arriving here, but...he understands now, thinking back to Sara all cozy in the dorm. ]
Have you gone for a ride yet?

Research
If you need any help with that subject I do have a little experience with it.
no subject
[Oh! Oh yes, they'd chatted about this a while ago with the bulletin board hadn't they...] It would be much appreciated- I'm used to other people looking after the horses, not myself.

As it is, the help is more than appreciated then.
Research
Oh, there are plenty of books about horse care! What do you need to know?
no subject
Noa...coughs.] ...As much as I can. I recently got my horse back...but naturally the ones who would have looked after her before aren't here. I'd rather be able to do it properly as such.
no subject
[Sorry, she might have missed a few things after that.]
no subject
...Are you interested in seeing her then?
no subject
[Her face lights up at that.]
Can I?
no subject
[That said.] I don't see why not- you'd just have to remain calm, and follow my lead, understand? She's still quite nervous after coming here.

[She'd been out and about, but whatever she'd been about to do is now entirely forgotten.]
You have a whole parade of penguins! It's an army of adorableness!
no subject
[OH NO, THE ONE WHO FOUND HIM AS A PENGUIN-]
...Please don't hug any of them, they're on duty....
no subject
[Good call, she was seconds away from cuddling.]
Are they your personal shoppers?
no subject
no subject
man haggling is such a weird concept when you're used to superstores and such...
...Is it actually commonplace to haggle here..?
[He's pretty sure most stores don't like that.]
tbf i don't think haggling is even a thing anymore... save for cheap old ducks

[He looks up at the horse.]
Your horse, I take it?
no subject
She is- that last bout of research brought her here, it seems.
I didn't think I'd see her again...
no subject
no subject
...Well I must confess, I hadn't seen her for a while at home either...
no subject
...
I suppose that makes her presence here even more welcome, then.
