What: Lena asks the boys for help planning a birthday party for Webby. Because that can't go wrong

It was only mentioned for a brief moment, but learning that Webby's birthday was coming up meant that Lena had work to do. Unfortunately, while she had an idea of how people celebrated birthdays from what she picked up here and there, actually planning one was not familiar territory for her.

So at some point, each of the guys might find Nectormancer flying around before the bat familiar lands on or near them, holding a note for them. And the note carried a simple message:

Meet me at the library
Lena

She wouldn't be difficult to spot, either, and for all the world it looked like she was just reading.

Though she was also keeping an eye out for Webby, just in case.

She slid the notebook closer to him so he could better see the ideas she'd written down. "Yeah, something like that. I figure the decorations could be kinda normal, y'know: balloons, streamers, the whole thing. But as far as games go, I was thinking of something like a scavenger hunt. That seemed to be a bit more Webby's thing."

"A scavenger hunt?" He couldn't help smiling more enthusiastically than usual at that. He's working on getting over Webby, but it's not a quick thing. And she's always going to be one of his closest friends. So no matter what way he looked at it, it was just nice to think about Webby being happy. "Yeah, that's totally Webs, you're right. She's going to love it."

With a grin, she nodded. "Right? It probably won't be as exciting as an actual adventure, but I think she'll have fun anyway. But what I can't come up with is the treasure she's supposed to find at the end."

[talkyourwayout]

"Personally? I'm okay with less exciting," Louie pointed out. "But the treasure... Huh. It should probably be something magical, since she's still so excited about all this."

She nodded, writing that down. "Yeah, something magic would be good...But what exactly? Like, I'm thinking we'll want to stay away from the 'all powerful, could destroy the world' type of magic. But something more than 'it just glitters' magic."

[talkyourwayout]

"Definitely don't give Webby anything that could destroy the world," Louie agreed, tapping his fingers against the table. "It should be functional, though... Or, actually, hold on. What if we could get her something that would remind her of home?"

"Remind her of home? Like what?"

[talkyourwayout]

"Off the top of my head? Something with Fantastics. Like, maybe we could use that to make something play a song she likes? She's really into a lot of different jingles, like the one from Funso's Funzone."

"Right, okay."

A beat.

"...how does that one go?"

[talkyourwayout]

"Oh, right... Don't worry, I'll teach you. It's really short: Funso's Funzone, where the fun is in the zone."

"...we can probably use the tune for something."

Not so much the words.

"But...I dunno. That doesn't feel special enough for a birthday gift, does it?"

"Maybe not? I don't know." He sighed, looking down at the table. "Webby's great, but I don't always get her."

"Yeah, she can be a bit of a wildcard," Lena agreed. "Like...honestly, I think she'd appreciate anything we do or give her, but that doesn't mean it still shouldn't be special, right?"

[talkyourwayout]

"Yeah... But you're right. We should still make it special. She deserves that," Louie sighed, before blinking and looking at Lena in alarm. "But that's off-the-record, that I said that."

He has an image to maintain, after all.

Giving him an amused look, she then pretended to strike something off the page.

"Off the record, then."

"Thanks, Lena," he sighed. He really wished getting over Webby would just hurry up and get itself done already. "So, okay. Something more special for Webby..."

"Hmm...maybe a treasure of some kind? But then there's the question of what."

[talkyourwayout]

"A treasure? Hmm. Webby's usually more about the adventure that gets us to the treasure. She likes the treasure if she can learn something from the past about it, especially about Uncle Scrooge stuff. Or her grandma."

He chuckled, though, as a thought hit him.

"Keep the treasure in mind for my birthday, though."

She snickered. "Noted. So maybe we focus more on the scavenger hunt itself, and have some kind of simple prize at the end for her?"

Louie stretched his arms up in the air before slumping in his seat with a smile. "Yeah, that sounds like the best way to do it."
