Don't know where I'm gonna land... [Mostly Open]
Who: Louie and OPEN, with a closed prompt for Huey and Dewey
What: The first half of June could have been better. Let's see how the rest treats Louie.
Where: On and off campus
When: From mid-June on
Warnings: None
Louie's Delivery Service
[Orisa is neither a broom nor a wise-cracking cat, but she's proven to be reliable, and extremely so. You bet Louie is taking full advantage of that, specifically by putting the omnic to work in his delivery service. There seemed to be quite a need for deliveries last month, after all - so... Problem, solution, right? That was how you built a business.
You need it delivered, and whatever it is, Louie and Orisa will make it happen! Louie cooridinates while Orisa does the actual labor. No one need know how grossly underpaid poor Orisa is... Especially Orisa.]
Uh-huh, uh-huh. And who is this going to, again?
Study Buddy?
[Louie doesn't care much about midterms, but he does care about not blowing up - so studying and practicing magic is a must, anyway. He might as well not fail while doing so. There's one huge obstacle he keeps running into, though: The library was not designed for a two-foot-tall duck.]
Hey, help me out? I need that book on Fantastics...
Shop 'Til You Drop
Ah, the smell of business dealings!
[Studying students deserve a reward, right? For Louie, that comes in the form of shopping in the Tenscore Kingdoms. He browses the forged and glyped items, almost as if he has his eye out for something particular. The search doesn't stop him from commenting on other things, though - he may not be taking Glyphing or Forging classes at present, but he can still value an item pretty well.]
Oh man, that's nice... That- Hmm, just copper, really? Ooh, this one has jewels on the handle!
No Rest for the Wicked (Closed to Huey and Dewey)
[With the delivery service started up, you might think Louie's conscience would keep him awake.
It doesn't.
Thunder and lightning, on the other hand, do. And that's what has the youngest Duck triplet waiting outside the Eiather House dormitory door. He's sent Cash, the rat, in with a little note addressed to his brothers that simply reads "Let me in! -Louie".]
Wildcard!
(Nothing up there working for you? Make up your own prompt, or hit me up on on Plurk at
dolewhip to plan something!)

For now he climbed up beside Louie almost automatically, though that glance certainly helped with feeling "invited." Settling in, he looked at him in kind and leaned a bit, cocking his closest arm up some. A shoulder to lean on, dear brother?

"I tried doing a Fantastics thing, so I wouldn't be able to hear it so much," he sighed. "Back in my dorm... But I couldn't focus."

He lightly rested a comforting arm around Louie.
"Or perhaps something with Discovery, to occupy our time." He didn't say it, but it might work as a good distraction for him. Anything to take his mind off the crashing storm.

"Let's try Discovering something," he settled on. "Maybe something so it's brighter in here." He gripped his wand and tried to remember some relevant Osmarius.

"We could stoke the fire? Or, I've been working on a spell called 'Candlelight.' It's supposed to create a little glowing orb of light about as bright as, well, a candle," he chuckled softly, "although I haven't quiiite perfected it yet."

"That's as far as I've gotten."

The ball of light appeared once more, flickering, but staying there.

"Louie! That was perfect, you did it!"

"...Thanks, Huey."
no subject
"Let's do it again! I want to hear exactly how you said it."
Maybe in another time and place Huey would be upset his brother was 'showing him up'- he himself was clearly the best of the three at magic, right? -but petty jealousy was only the sort of thing that rose in him when his temper did. For the most part he was so dang proud of his brother succeeding in something like this, and add to that the excitement of doing this together? This was the best thing that'd happened to him all night!

"Okay, I'm going to do the whole spell this time, then you try to copy me."
Louie had to move his wand slowly to get the sigils just right, but he managed, and the slower pace would perhaps help Huey latch on to the pronunciation better, anyway.
no subject
"Look! There's more of them!"
Sure enough, the successful spells had added two more orbs to the first one, floating in space there were they sat.
no subject
"Looks like you got it, Huey."
He'd known his brother would be able to. It was Huey, after all, whose brains were matched perhaps only by his determination. A rumble of thunder went by, barely noticed by Louie.
no subject
"All thanks to your help! I never woulda gotten that spell on my own."
no subject
"What are brothers for, right? You know, besides being employees?"
no subject
"Yeah. You're not gonna charge me for your help, right?" Knowing full well he might've just put the idea in Louie's head in the first place.

"And what sort of trade would that be?"
