Louie's Delivery Service
[Orisa is neither a broom nor a wise-cracking cat, but she's proven to be reliable, and extremely so. You bet Louie is taking full advantage of that, specifically by putting the omnic to work in his delivery service. There seemed to be quite a need for deliveries last month, after all - so... Problem, solution, right? That was how you built a business.

You need it delivered, and whatever it is, Louie and Orisa will make it happen! Louie cooridinates while Orisa does the actual labor. No one need know how grossly underpaid poor Orisa is... Especially Orisa.]

Uh-huh, uh-huh. And who is this going to, again?

Study Buddy?
[Louie doesn't care much about midterms, but he does care about not blowing up - so studying and practicing magic is a must, anyway. He might as well not fail while doing so. There's one huge obstacle he keeps running into, though: The library was not designed for a two-foot-tall duck.]

Ah, the smell of business dealings!

[Studying students deserve a reward, right? For Louie, that comes in the form of shopping in the Tenscore Kingdoms. He browses the forged and glyped items, almost as if he has his eye out for something particular. The search doesn't stop him from commenting on other things, though - he may not be taking Glyphing or Forging classes at present, but he can still value an item pretty well.]

Oh man, that's nice... That- Hmm, just copper, really? Ooh, this one has jewels on the handle!

No Rest for the Wicked (Closed to Huey and Dewey)
[With the delivery service started up, you might think Louie's conscience would keep him awake.

It doesn't.

Thunder and lightning, on the other hand, do. And that's what has the youngest Duck triplet waiting outside the Eiather House dormitory door. He's sent Cash, the rat, in with a little note addressed to his brothers that simply reads "Let me in! -Louie".]

Dewey sees the note first - of course he does, what with Huey constantly being preoccupied with studies or weaning his familiar off gambling. He checks to make sure his roommate is sleeping soundly - yep, Eleven is out light a light, not bothered in the least by the weather - then slips out into the common room to open the door.

He knows why Louie's here, of course - he'd started to expect him the moment he'd heard the rumble of thunder. Cash is perched on his shoulder as he pulls the door open, and he gives Louie a little smirk.

"Lose something?"

[Ah, he hadn't realized Webby was the one next to him, or he would have gone to find someone who wasn't the same height.

Also this is still awkward for him, seeing her.]

Uh, I'm pretty sure there's an easier way to do that.

[A pause. There's an obvious solution to that, too, of course.]

Or we could look at it together, if that's okay with you?

"Oh, shut up," Louie mutters, stepping inside and holding a hand up to Dewey's shoulder so Cash can hop over. He remembers the last time he was in this common room - he'd been the target of some house rivalry-fueled bullying, but luckily, his pajamas don't betray him as a Vhaludor student. Plus, most of the Eiather students have retired to their dorms for the night.

"Dun' wanna," he said brightly. "My roommate's sawing logs - you wanna play a game in here or something?"

"Yeah, I guess that w-"

A particularly loud and very close by boom of thunder cuts him off, though, and he takes in a deep breath as the sound fades away. This sucks.

[Too late, she's already there, yanking the book out.]

Got it! Catch!

[And down she throws!]

[He fumbles the book a bit, out of nerves that it's going to hit him in the face, but does catch it.]

Well, now that we're all cool again, and I don't have to worry about Lena's back home situation, I can study with a free and clear mind!

[She follows him to the table, taking a seat next to him and pulling out a notebook to take notes.]

[Though his expression is one of pure shock at that news, there's a light laugh in his voice as he reacts.]

What? Seriously, she is? That... Are you sure?

That's what he said, the first day we saw each other here! I couldn't stop crying, I was so happy!

[her hands clasp together, all that excitement returning in full force.]

We really will be together forever and ever!

[He’s too relieved to read anything into that, which is perhaps for the best.]

"This is one of those times - you know, like all the time lately - when I wish I knew more magic so I could, I dunno, make the walls soundproof or something."

He shoots his brother a sympathetic glance. He's always loved the sound of thunder, reveled in it, along with the possiblities it brings of spooky ghost stories by candlelight while the power's out. But he can put a lid on that for Louie, since Uncle Donald's not there to help. He figures he kind of has to. It's an unspoken rule.

"Maybe we could raid the kitchen first?"

I'm mostly looking into the kind of effect different types of sound and music has on the magic it's producing. Like, how the magic might change with sharper, shrill sounds versus deeper tones.

Well, I mean, whatever happened - will happen - I guess it works, which is great.

The smile Louie gives Dewey in return to that look is small - even tiny - but present all the same. His brother may be a lunatic half the time, but he's a good guy, too.

He winces at another clap of thunder, and shakes his head 'no'. Getting to the kitchens would mean walking through the storm. Besides, the best comfort he'll get is if he just keeps talking. That always makes him feel more at ease, even in a situation he can't literally talk himself out of.
