OTA - Xion catch all for Mid Feb (CW: suicide mentions)

This is not how we stay hidden!

Well, Xion has come to accept that killing herself is pointless until she can find a way to erase people's memories of her here. But she is still trying to actively avoid letting people make memories of her, so she is mostly avoiding people. She hasn't been to her dorm, she might have ghosted into a few classes late if the door was left open, the stand in the shadows near the door, but would flee if spotted. In town she also tries to stick to the shadows and stay hidden.

Which works passably well for the first day or two. Until the incident. For some reason someone thought that she was someone else, some singer or... something. Some Somebody. They screamed a name, and when she looked over, confused, they took that to mean they were right. Next thing Xion knew a mob was forming, screaming that name and... chasing her. Because no way was she standing still for that, and even with her Keyblade and powers...what could she do? These weren't Nobodies, these weren't Heartless, she couldn't ATTACK. So she RAN.

Anyone want to help a Nobody?

Sunsets and surprises

So those who have already met Xion probably know that she thinks everything would be better if she were dead and forgotten. This isn't to say that her idea of this is groundless, but it is certainly concerning. So what might also be concerning is that she has developed a habit of exploring to find ledges and rooftops on tall buildings, looking for one where she could sit and watch the sunset.

But she's never told anyone this is what she is doing, or why she is wandering around ledges near the end of each day.... So it might look a little concerning...

She shook her head. "No one is supposed to see a Nobody, so we don't really get chased by people a lot. Just HEartless and other Nobodies."

Eleven smiled, though it faltered a bit to think Xion was used to being invisible except to people that wanted to hunt her.

"Well if people can see you now, then you must be Someone."

She shook her head. "If that was all it took to be a Somebody again, I don't think anyone would follow orders at all." Except maybe Saïx.

"Orders?" He shifted, uncertain. "..Is there a way to tell if you're Someone or not?"

"Somebodies have a heart," she said simply. Because it was that simple. "They're actual people. Nobodies are not. Xemnas promised all the Nobodies in the Organization hearts when Kingdom Hearts was finished. But he was lying." She looked away. He had been lying and she had helped him.

Eleven touched a hand to his chest, suddenly worried he'd lost his. ..But no, he could still feel it, beating steady under his fingertips.

"You're sure you don't have one? You look- well, it's a little hard to tell I guess, but you're alive."

"I am not alive and I do not exist. I am a Nobody. I have no heart."

Eleven looked her over, doubting every word of it, then spared a glance to the Mark on the back of his hand.

"When I get my powers back, I'll help you find your heart."

She blinked, and even stumbled back a step, startled by the offer. "Wh.... why?" she asked, confused and stunned.

It wasn't until the word left her mouth that pain filled her as she realized why that could never happen. Should never happen. As much as she wished for a heart... she wasn't supposed to have one. To be that selfish.

"Everyone should have one," he said simply, shrugging. "Everyone should be able to exist. No one should be hunted for being what they are, or.. what they're told they are. And I think I will be able to help."

She closed her eyes, her hands curling at her side. She shook her head, and swallowed hard. "That would be something any Nobody would want. But... I can't have a heart. I'm not even a regular Nobody. I'm a failed experiment. And I have to vanish. I was supposed to...." she swallowed and turned, heading for the door. She paused.

"There is one person... he'll be dressed like me, he might even come looking for me. Red hair, marks on his face. His name is Axel. If you're going to help anyone get their heart... it should be him. It is too late for Roxas and I."

"I don't think that's true," he said. "But I'll keep an eye out for him."

I'm the Luminary, he thought to her turned back. If he couldn't help her find her heart, how was he ever going to restore Yggdrasil's?

"It was good to meet you, Xion."

Eleven cast a glance to the temple's altar. Raida, will you help me?

She took a breath and looked back, nodding. "If I do things correctly... you will forget you ever met me but.... No Somebody has ever wanted to help one of us before. So... Thank you."

She lifted her hands to her hood, considered lowering it, but dropped her hands instead. Roxas saw Sora last time. She couldn't handle that again.

Xion crept back to the door, to listen for signs telling her if it was safe to leave yet or not.

He turned to watch her go with a smile, and hoped to hold onto his memories.

"Be careful."

Come to think of it, he never did find out why she was being chased.

She rested a gloved hand on the door. All was quiet. "Thank you," she whispered, then slipped outside once more.
