I see the future

Who: Hendrik [personal profile] unswervingcompanion with the Luminary [personal profile] bearshermark) & Open!
When: Early to mid April
Where: Around Anastra
What: Nobody Likes the Sundered Quest

[Anti-Sundered sentiment has been rising in Anastara lately, expressed in small but significant ways. Poorer service at stores, people taking a wide berth around obvious Sundered, graffiti here and there... This will be a major problem if it continues, of course. The question is, where is the source? You and your friends have a chance to discuss how you'll investigate, and where.]

The knight and the Luminary were walking side by side, trying to figure out what was causing the unrest that had been going on. Not one to sit idly by, Hendrik had decided to try and do something about it. He'd overheard fellow students stating that they were refused service and the knight noticed that he himself had been given a wide berth lately, but hadn't thought anything of it until the other students had begun talking around him.

The pair walked on and saw students sitting on a bench complaining about how rude the clerk at the store had been and this made the knight shake his head. And his eyes had noticed graffiti that wasn't very flattering towards the students. This reminded him of times that the knights of Heliodor had been looked down upon and his blue-green eyes narrowed.

Stepping away from the others, he turned to the Luminary. "The situation seems even worse than I had suspected. Something must be done with how poorly others are being treated."

To his taste, it was a little too much suspicion and doubt to cast upon the people responsible for bringing them here. He could scarcely imagine why they'd want foreigners to come to Anastara, but Hel and Hendrik seemed convinced it was the best place to start.

"..We could ask the researchers what they think of it," he offered. "If they're trying to reverse the spell, they might be most familiar with it."

"The researchers are clueless..." Hel replied grimly. "They don't know the first place to start since this sort of magic has been banned for so long." Recalling her conversation with the professor. Truthfully she agreed with Hendrick. The direct approach was the preferable option but they were lacking in clues to the identity of the perpetrator.

".... but if you want to start there be my guest." It wasn't if she would try to stop them. In truth, she'd just been in the area and overheard the discussion about the matter.

Eleven bit the inside of his lip.

"..I think we should really ask the ones responsible directly. They'll probably be just as rude to us, but we might be able to gather why they're acting like they are. There could be a common theme or source to work from."

Presumably the headmaster would be the most knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects. It wasn't the worst suggestion that could have been made.

"....................................................................................."

Eleven's suggestion was so simplistic, that Hel almost felt stupid for not having come up with it herself. If they just wanted to focus on the immediate problem and not a long term one then confronting the culprits would accomplish that. They could literally just ask them.

"If they're even willing to talk- just be prepared for a fight if it comes to that."

A shy, relieved smile worked its way across his lips. He'd rather that than cast suspicion over people they'd never even tried to talk to. If there was something more nefarious than misunderstanding at play, he hoped to gather evidence of it first.

"I think we should be able to handle a fight, if it comes to that. Hendrik is pretty good at giving people second thoughts about starting one, though. But.. maybe we shouldn't approach them looking hostile."

"They also do not know what we are capable of," Which, if Hel is being honest isn't much. At least in comparison to what she used to be able to do. "So... let's give the impression that we are confident and formidable then they might not try to start anything."

Somehow, she seemed to have gotten herself involved in this when she'd only intended to comment on it idly. That tended to happen even back home.

"Not hostile no- but not anxious either. We have every right to be here just as they do."

While he wouldn't say they had every right to be in another's world, it was true that they didn't have a choice. Eleven mirrored Hendrik's nod and turned toward the shop they'd overheard the students complaining about.

"Let's start with asking the clerk about the mistreatment of those students, then."
