Oct Event Log - Portal Chaos
The glowing portal shuddered before slamming shut behind them. It had seemed like a good idea at the time... go through the portal in order to close it from the other side. And it had worked! The portal was closed, the school was safe but the heroes who had worked together to close the portal were now trapped on the other side.
[ OOC - This is the IC log for this. Consider it a freeform playground, take these prompts and run with them or come up with your own. ]
Through the Portal
( Loki, Crowley, Alec, Beetlejuice, Sho )
Silence fell as soon as the portal closed leaving the small group standing in the middle of a crossroads. The ruined archway that ran along the top of the cliffs hinted that there might once have been more of a civilization in this world but now there were only the two pathways, one that ran down the hill into the face of the brilliant red glow that hinted at a flow of magma beyond and one that curved up a hastily cobbled together set of stairs. Of course they were free to stay right where they were as well, here in this craggy passage with the imps peering down at them from every rock and crevasse.
Rescuers
( Aziraphale, Harry, Lena, Eleven, Mal )
With the battle won most begin to relax. There was the wounded to see to and the damage to the school to repair... but gradually the more tuned in students start to notice the missing. Roll calls that were taken but never completed for some were not around to answer to their names. Then one of the injured students comes to and mentions having seen the missing students disappearing through the imp summoning portal. Clearly they were trapped on the other side and it was up to their fellow students to work out a way to bring them back!

"Does anybody have an idea on how to determine where we are, or how to get back?"

Crowley stalked out from behind the other two, giving the imps staring at them a good long look of his own. One had to do things like that in order to keep imps in line or they simply went wild.
"Anyway it's obvious where we are." To a demon anyway, "We just need to find a way back. You guys favor right or left?"
no subject
"If those things attack us we're fucked."
Though it would probably just be him. He didn't know about the other guy.

Alec Hardy Sidequest

Unsurprised to find him catching his breath and on the ground, still injured. Loki was mildly impressed he was conscious still. "Well. Can you get up on your own?" Arms crossed, expression closed off aside from a bit of disdain.

"Yes. Now piss off. I don't need your help." Well he did but he didn't want it.

The Rest of the Group
Re: The Rest of the Group
Beetlejuice was frankly impressed at this level of delusion, and was hoping the large demon would use Sho as a toothpick.

But Crowley was less focused on Sho than he was on the place Alec had once been standing. He had confessed recently about his lack of time. A few months and that was it. When Alec had been in hospital he couldn't have foreseen the giant demonic mountain he was about to attack or the whacking great fall he was bound to take... maybe he hadn't had months left, maybe Alec was dead already.
"I never asked him to come..." A harsh whisper gained a touch of heat, fear over what Alec's fate might have been flashed to rage, which was then directed to the only people nearby, "I never asked any of you to come!"
Sightseers in Hell! How could that ever have gone well?!
Crowley's anger began to build. His fury caused the magma to boil more intensely as the fires of Hell to rose up around them. But the mountain demon wasn't sitting still for this. The large demon on the mountain stretched his wings to send those attacking imps raining down around them like hail. Frozen in little balls of ice the imps hit the ground hard, some shattering out of their icy prisons to reach out and swap sides... clambering over which ever unlucky adventurer they happened to land on. Crowley was pulled to the ground by a horde of the creatures before whatever retribution he had been building up to could be unleashed.

And boring.
And not his style.
"INFINITY!!!!!!" He yelled. His original power teamed with the adapted magic of Diatu doubled up as massive energy burst out from the ground behind him. Not only did it fry the imps imp-ressivly, but a bright light was beginning to glow from within his form...

The frazzled worry was redirected once word began to spread about a group of students who had sealed the portal with themselves INSIDE. THAT sounded like a demonic plan if ever Aziraphale had heard one (and he had heard many). Of all the harebrained, idiotic-- Crowley had done some foolish things in his time, but this was astoundingly bad even by his standards.
How many students had gone? With the injured and recovering scattered around the campus, it would take far too long to get a proper roll-call. A dozen? Surely not that many people were THAT stupid. Maybe half a dozen, the more foolhardy among them, or those with something to prove...
They didn't even know WHERE the portal went to, other than that the imps had come out of it. Attempting to Sunder at random seemed like an even stupider idea than what had gotten them into this mess. If there was something to focus on, somewhere to direct his efforts...
Two years ago, Aziraphale had attempted to summon Crowley into this world with sundering magic. When that had failed, they had swapped bodies for a time. Not entirely the worst sort of outcome if summoning Crowley failed. Perhaps on the other side, Aziraphale might even be able to open a portal back.
Or at least Crowley would be safe.
"In light of recent events, I suppose it would be in bad form to suggest summoning a demon?" Not that he intended to take No for an answer. "Good, right, well." Time to start on those glyphs.

Besides, he is pretty used to breaking the school rules just to get the job done and save the day, which sounds very Slytherin of him.
“So which glyphs should we try to use first?” he asks the angel as he brings out his Glyphics notebook and begins to pour through the notes to see if there is anything the rescue team could use for the mission.
no subject
"The two of you cannot possibly be that stupid," she said, flatly, coming over, arms crossed.
Then again, now that she saw which two it was, perhaps they could.

Her cat familiar Marly is napping beside her: curled up into a ball and purring in bliss after the fight with possessed wizards and imps in the school. Now she doesn't have Glyphics as part of her schedule for the time being, but she is probably one of the few Sundered who has an artistic talent, so she could learn to see how glyphs work in real time.

Tree-girl sidequest
"Well, I think you ought to tell the Headmaster."
There was one of those in every group, wasn't there?
"Either that or..."
There was a sickening CRACK as the branch gave way and sent the student tumbling head over heels to the ground. Her scream was legendary... but the drop wasn't all that far really. It's up to you if you decide to catch her with your magic or let her land on the by gravity's good graces.
Re: Tree-girl sidequest
Blame Carlos.
But instinct took over and she didn't have time for her spell book. She pulled her wand and cast the first spell she could think of.
"Stop her fall
Stop it fast
Catch her now
set her down gently at last!
Ugh, not her best work.
Her eyes glowed green and green trailed from both her wand and her lead fingertip as her spell reached to slow the girl's fall.
Which of course left Mal mad at herself again. How was she supposed to get a bad girl rep if she kept saving people? UGH.

"Thank you. As I was about to say... you could always use one of the old airships. That and some kind of transport spell might be enough to get your friends back from wherever they went. We could probably find one in the library, unless you have already learned one?"
no subject
"And... what friends? All I know is we were under attack, then I find these idiots talking about demon summoning. Someone had better tell me what is going on, and soon!"

Utilizing his kinetic magic, he immediately teleports the girl from her free fall and onto the ground with her feet planted firmly on the ground. Percy then turns his head a bit in curiosity and lets out a small hoot as he checks on her to see if she’ll be alright.
no subject
She took a deep breath and looked around as if some one might be listening.
"I couldn't help but overhear your rescue plans, mostly because I was eavesdropping... Do you really think that would work?"
no subject
To be fair, Harry did have some second thoughts about trying to summon back the other students from being stuck in Hell. He is worried that they might bring back the imps by accident if they take one misstep. Maybe the girl could have some ideas that they could use.
If he had stayed the way he was back home years ago, he would’ve be recklessly jumping in first without thinking twice, but with what he went through in Avalon, he had become very cautious and sometimes doubtful of things at times. It doesn’t hurt to get other people’s opinions before they can go through with the rescue right away.
