What: A clean demon is a grumpy demon

Since Mal had cursed him with having a human sense of smell, Beetlejuice had been showering at least every other day.   As a bonus, he'd been washing his clothes as well.   

He still looked like a dead guy, but, he smelled somewhat better.   And the moss that was growing on him looked a bit healthier.  Beetlejuice himself on the other hand, was sullen, and plotting revenge.  

"Hey.  Hey, kid.  Do you think demonic possession is a reasonable retaliation for a minor curse?  Nothing fatal, just, literally singing my praises." .

June had been on her way to class when she was stopped by someone, and she tilted her head a bit at the question. "Uh...I dunno," she said after a moment. "I guess it depends. What kinda curse was it?"

"Okay, so I'm dead. I'm a demon, and my senses are a bit different than those of the living. Beetlejuice explained, bouncing on his toes and moving around June as he spoke.

"So, this girl decides to curse me with a living sense of smell for absolutely no reason at all. And I figure a little possession---" He made a puppet out of his right hand to emphasize his idea, "might be just what the brat needs."

She moved her head to watch him while he explained, and she frowned thoughtfully. "Hmm...so she didn't say why she was cursing you? You guys didn't have an argument or anything?"

It seemed weird that someone would just curse another person randomly. From what she knew, there was always some kind of reason to these things.

"Just that she wanted me to be able to smell by own B.O."

Beetlejuice shrugged.

June blinked. "B.O.? Do dead people still have B.O.?"

She didn't think B.O. and the smell of decay were really the same thing.

"Well, ghosts don't, but, I'm a demon. My corporeal body apparently does get rank."

He gave a cheerful shrug.

She hummed a bit in thought as she considered that. "Well...I guess that's pretty bad, but I dunno if it's enough to justify demonic possession."
