Scheduling Issues

Making up his schedule had actually been fairly easy. Sundering was required, and Fantastics a must, then Draconic Knowledge rounded out the morning. Two of his afternoon slots were taken up with the required Law and History of Wizardry, and Music- another must- filled out the afternoon. He was a bit disappointed to have to pass on Literature, really, but Music would be far more helpful, both for his Fantastics class and for entertaining the locals.

Of course, this left him with a bit of time on his hands before classes actually started. After handing in his chosen schedule to the school official who was finalizing them, he took a look around to see if anyone looked like the needed a hand with theirs. Or just a bit of cheering up.

Classing Up Classes

Fantastics was every bit as much fun as Sylvando had expected, and the fact that his flute had come with him to this strange new world had been quite a stroke of luck. The professor was quite an interesting character, for all his grumbling, an he was definitely looking forward to learning form him. In the meantime, he was already thinking of ways that certain of his spells and abilities from back home could be adapted for use in with this world's magical rules.

And Sundering was quite surprising. Not in terms of the content of the syllabus- that was roughly what he'd expected of such a class- but in terms of the one teaching it. Professor King was both a charming young lady and obviously passionate about her subject, both qualities that endeared her to her newest student. Perhaps he should bring her an apple next class, if that was a thing that was done here.

Draconic Knowledge was the real mystery, though. What sort of knowledge might they be learning regarding dragons? Was it simply draconic magic? Or more general knowledge, such as history, anatomy, or even their favorite pass-times? It seemed he was about to find out, as he walked into class and looked around for an empty seat.

A Little Song and Dance

Before trying out his routine in Anastra proper, Sylvando thought it might be best to have his fellow students be a test audience of sorts. And thus Sylvando found a likely little square on campus; plenty of foot traffic after classes, but not so crowded that he'd cause a disruption. He bent down to briefly stroke and speak to his new familiar, Magdalena, "Ready for your big debut, darling?", he said. The cat meowed and butted her head against his palm, which he took to mean yes.

Thus, with his feline friend in tow, Sylvando hopped up onto the lip of a fountain's basin while Magdalena made several more jumps to settle primly on top of the head of the statue of a wizard that made up the fountain's centerpiece. After laying down a box for tips- just because this was mostly a rehearsal didn't mean that he couldn't do a little busking-, he played a little tune on his flute to get the attention of passers by. And once he had it he showed no intention of letting it go, mixing in music, real magic- primarily from his own world but a bit from this one too-, stage magic, and juggling.

For the show's finale, Magdalena- who most spectators had likely forgotten about, if they'd noticed her at all- leaped from the statue's head, over the stream of water spouting from its wand, and through the ring created by the colorful balls Sylvando was juggling to land neatly on the ground between him and the crowd. Sylvando gave all of his juggling balls one final toss upward, higher than before, made a flourish with one hand and snapped his fingers; the balls burst into a shower of harmless pink magical sparkles that floated gently down on him, his cat and a few of the nearest spectators.

He then took a bow and even the cat seemed to do the same as the audience applauded. "Thank you, thank you all," Sylvando said. "Truly, it's the smiles on all of your faces that makes every performance so special!"

"Oh," Eleven laughed. "No, he's fine. He's sworn himself to me, so he just follows me around a lot of the time, now."

Which admittedly, was some trouble at times, but he'd welcome it over being hunted.

A familiar question popped to his tongue, but Eleven grinned with it, looking Sylvando over.

"You must be in Valhudor, right? Surely there's no other house that suits you better."

Yggdrasil. Sylv remembered Her Fall, then. But it almost sounded as though he didn't recall Hendrik joining them.

"Ka?" he repeated, taken out of his musings by surprise. He frowned. "That seems an odd choice for you. You're with Erik, then."

"Oh," he said, briefly puzzled. He hadn't thought of that, and found himself a touch disappointed his friends wouldn't see each other as much.

"But you'll still share classes, I guess," he mused aloud. "I wish I was in more of those with you."
