who: Kaiba & OPEN (+ closed prompts in comments)
what: Adjusting to an increase in population, various prompts
when: First few days of the new term
where: Around campus and in town, various locations
warning: discussions of minor injury, others to be added if needed, none anticipated
some spellwork
It's been a rough few days for Kaiba, as evidenced by the noticeable wad of bandage on his nose. He's quiet and focused in his classes, and the work gets done, but as soon as he has free time, he jumps back into the next stage of his plan. He has some scrap paper piled in front of him, a wand ready for some glyph work...and he chants his calculation.
That little pile of paper scraps in front of him? It doubled in size. And then doubled again. What an efficient spell! He crouches and immediately begins to draw a counterspell, but the trash pile soon takes over that space. Time to switch gears. The trash pile is closing in.
"Should've put a brake in the glyph..."
Students passing by this lab may notice paper scraps starting to spill into the hallway.
nightly drudgery
If there's one thing that Kaiba needs, it's money. And how is he going to get it? With a job. He's spent the last few months searching for work that suits him, and at last he's found it...by filing paperwork at City Hall. Learning about the ways magic influences property disputes and reading about late night brawls was amusing at first, but nothing can last.
Every evening, after class and homework, he rushes out the gates in a simple navy suit. If a student heads out to dinner, maybe they'll find him seated on the steps for a dinner break, sorting through a giant pile of rubbish.
"If I never hear another case about trees crossing property lines, it'll be too soon."

He sighs deeply, then looks at her once more. Please don't let him regret it. "Can I trust you with this?"

She... might have enchanted it at some point to have more pages.
"Let's see, we should do this as separate spells to make sure each takes just right... Lucky for you, hair spells are a specialty of mine. Everyone seems to want them.
She wrote one quickly, because really, hair spells were the spells most people hired her for.
She read the spell up.
"Beware, forswear, replace the short with long flowing luxurious hair."
She gestured, eyes and the trail of her finger. He'd feel a tingling and then his hair would start growing, magically fast. As it grew the colour would shift to a lovely natural red and it would gain body and wave. The hair he wound up with wasn't curly, wasn't straight, but just flowed somewhere between, tumbling fetchingly over shoulders and down the back, nearly to the hips. It was full enough to make the breadth of his shoulders more ambiguous.
"Next..." She stared writing a spell then again read it and gestured.
"Classic fairytale this wish, a royal to be.
A princess's crown jewels worn for all to see.
Until midnight strikes or the other spells end
Let him bejeweled as a princess with plenty to spend."
Have a jeweled circlet, an expensive looking necklace with a huge ruby surrounded by sapphires to match hair and dress, rings, and bracelets.
And the rest... She wrote another spell, took longer to tweak it and then grinned.
"Color brings out the eyes and smile
makeup that looks elegant and lasts a while.
Tint on the nails and paint on the lips and eyes
let this makeup and polish finish the disguise!"
Like with the other spells there would be tingles where the magic affected change and at the end of it all, she seemed more amused than ever - hiding how tired she now was - and he had long red flowing hair, enough jewelry that if he sold it all (and he can't, it will vanish if he takes it off) he could probably buy up any rival companies back home, and makeup and nail polish. All of it color coded to work well together.
Have fun being a bedecked pretty pretty princess.

He draws a glyph and uses a simple modification to turn the nearest wall into a temporary mirror. The result...could conceivably pass as a woman, as long as he doesn't talk too much and keeps his distance. It'll do.
"One last thing." He takes a page from his notebook, draws a simple mask shape, and transforms it into a navy masquerade mask. With that fitted over his face, it should all but the most diligent from recognizing him in this form. Satisfied, he reaches for his messenger bag and withdraws a fair amount of the local currency, about enough to buy a nice dinner in town, and hands it to her.
"Impressive work. I don't recognize myself, and that's just what I need. Guess I'll be off to the library, then."

"Also, if the library is somewhere you usually go, and just guessing here cause you looked like a nerd when we first met, that's probably not high on the list of places you should be."

Seto shakes his head, and then...no, wait. He'll have to be careful about how he maneuvers.
"I know it looks off, but how else am I supposed to research curse breaking?"

Now he just has to figure out how to move like a princess. He tries to make his stride more delicate, shift with grace...it's not easy.
"And this'll be easy to reverse once the dress is off, right."
