A birthday surprise
Who: Lea, Isa, and their friends. If you think that means you, it probably does.
Where: The school dining hall
When: Mid afternoon, late January, on a day with no classes
What: It's Isa's birthday, and Lea has a surprise for him
In the dining hall, part of one of the long tables had been covered by a light-blue tablecloth, with places set for a number of people. Not a huge number- Lea knew Isa well enough to know that he wouldn't like that- but enough for all their friends he'd invited. And he had invited all their friends, old and new (or at least his, their mutual ones, and as many of Isa's as he knew about).
Why? Because Lea wasn't about to allow the first proper birthday his best friend had had in more than a decade with out some sort of celebration. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was still nice. And he knew that Isa would love the surprise he had planned. Well the party itself was technically a surprise too, but only to Isa. He'd told everyone he'd invited what was up, but had just instructed Isa to meet him in the dining hall at the appropriate time.
Everything was set up, including the cake; a simple sheet cake at one end of the cloth covered area, decorated with blue and yellow sprinkles, and with 'Happy birthday Isa!' written on it in blue frosting. This was gonna be great. Now the only thing to do was wait for Isa and their friends to arrive.

whomp whomp,
Well, he didn't expect this. Noa blinks as he comes into the dining hall for a somewhat late lunch, Adelai firmly strapped to his back like a strange backpack. "Is there...a party?" he starts blankly, blinking rapidly before the penguin squawks.
"...Hmm?"
"AAaaAAAAAAUHH!" Sheepishly, a letter- an invitation- is handed over the boy's shoulder. Hah.
Forgot to deliver this, apparently. Well! It's all good, except...
"....I don't have a gift now...." Bugger. Maybe no one will notice if he backs out to try and purchase something quickly..?
