from my heart & from my hand why don't people understand my intentions?
Who: Eleven and Aziraphale
Where: Somewhere between the school and the temple
When: Early October, before the 10th
What: He already has help, but Aziraphale needs back-up in case this goes pear-shaped.
Warnings: None??? Choo Choo the Angel-train is pulling into Bad Decision Central, but that's nothing new.
This was undoubtedly a bad idea.
But Aziraphale was still going to go through with it.
And if he was going to do it, he was going to do it right. Despite his desire to involve as few people as angelically possible (both for secrecy and safety--though mostly secrecy because this was going to look very bad to a great many people), he had come to the conclusion that he might need backup.
He had gone over this a dozen times, contemplating how to word the request in such a way that wasn't going to end in heartbreak and disaster-- Because as much as he liked Eleven, it was difficult after being burned by the Archangels to trust implicitly where Holy knights were concerned, and though Eleven had proven to be a very good young man, he was still...a very good young man, and maybe Aziraphale needed someone a little more...neutral (ah, but Yotsuyu was that).
But, after a great deal of consideration, Aziraphale felt he needed a holy knight after all. Someone who could vanquish a demon if the demon turned out to be Hastur. Or Beelzebub. Or just a bunch of incredibly annoying lower-level demonic entities. He wanted someone who could be trusted to use Holy Water ONLY if the necessity came to that, and only as a last resort. He wasn't certain enough that he wanted to put that on Yotsuyu's shoulders.
The trouble was, he ALSO needed that someone to be a person who could be trusted to stay their hand when the demon turned out to (hopefully) be Crowley. And that was the challenge, wasn't it?
Just when he was beginning to second(third/fourth/x-th) guess his choice, he spotted Eleven across the way and began towards him.
"Ah, Eleven! I was hoping I might have a word with you. It's a matter of some privacy, if you have a moment."

In the end, he led them out on the grounds where their only immediate company was a copse of restless trees.
"Is everything all right?"
no subject
"I happen to need your help with a matter." He stole a glance to gauge Eleven's reaction. "It's nothing terribly big, but it is incredibly important to me." Another glance as he walked further into the trees. "I've been researching in that library, as you know, I'd just like to perform a bit of magic and I'd like some assistance in case it goes wrong."
no subject
"Well if it's important to you, I'd be happy to help." He met Aziraphale's eyes with some concern.
"But if you're worried about wayward spellwork, I think the professors might be better to ask."

"Sundering." Not quite a question, threaded through as it was with surprise and a tinge of disbelief. That was dangerous magic and he didn't have any experience at all with correcting it. ..Well. Not as such, anyway.
"..What are you trying to do?"

Perhaps he was just being a bit anxious. After all, Heaven and Hell didn't seem to have much of a presence here (yet) and they were not exactly in the middle of a Cold War.
"I would like to bring a very dear friend here. Partly to protect him. And partly just because I miss him."
no subject
"You think you can copy the Sundering spell that brought us here? Isn't that advanced magic?"
He'd be quite impressed if he managed it, but advanced magic was advanced for a reason. The consequences would be high for failure.

"You think you might summon something dangerous if it goes wrong," he surmised, coming to understand that he might have to kill whatever it was if it couldn't be sent back.
"It sounds like you're willing to risk a lot for this."

"Crowley is incredibly important to me. He's more than a friend; he's an ally--has been, for a very long time. We defied some rather powerful and dangerous people together in order to facilitate saving the world and now, my being here has left him, I'm afraid, quite on his own. So, you see, since I can't figure out how to return home, I'd like to bring him here where he will be safe. Or, at the very least, where we will be together."
He straightened his lapels, trying to feel bolder and braver than he was.
"It's what I think he would do--for me--if our positions had been reversed."
