Day 1
Who: Lea and you. Yes, YOU!
When: The day all the new people arrive, prior to him meeting Xion
Where: Around the Academy
What: Lea is stuck in a new world and generally not a happy camper. Pick your scenario or make one up.
Warnings: Shouldn't be any?
Notes: Lea won't succeed in getting rid of his familiar, here or elsewhere, but have fun watching him try for a bit. X3
Un-familiar
Lea had accepted the box full of stuff that the academy staff had given him reasonably politely; he might not be happy about it, but for the moment at least, he wasn't in a position to refuse their hospitality. They'd given him his dorm assignment and some basic directions on how to get there, as well as a weird magical glass eye that Lea quickly stuck in his pocket after a moment of using it to look at himself; he'd probably find a use for it later, but right now it was super creepy. Not to mention disorienting.
When he picked up his box of stuff and turned to go, though, one of the staff members called out to him. "Wait a moment, Lea," he said. "You're forgetting your familiar."
"My what?", Lea said.
"Your familiar," the man repeated, indicating a rat in a cage that had been sitting on the table. "Your animal companion."
Lea looked at the rat for a moment, then turned his gaze back to the man. "I don't want a pet rat," he said.
"I'm afraid you don't get your choice of familiar," the man said, apparently preparing to launch into an explanation. "Familiars are matched to to their respective wizards through a secret and long standing magical-"
"No, you don't get it," Lea said, interrupting. "It's not that I want a different pet. Or familiar, or whatever you call them. It's that I don't want any pets. You can keep them."
The man looked slightly taken aback. "But it's already been bonded to you, and-"
"Well unbond it and give it to someone else," Lea said, interrupting again. "Maybe someone who actually wants to be here."
By now the small argument may be drawing a bit of attention from those passing by, but Lea didn't much care at the moment. First he gets kidnapped and told he's not only trapped, but will die horribly if he doesn't learn to use their world's magic, then they try to stick him wit a pet he didn't want on top of all the other crap that was going on? No thanks.
Dis-orientation
Lea wandered through the halls of the academy, looking for the Ka dormitory, where he'd apparently been assigned. Despite the basic directions he'd been given, he'd apparently gotten a bit lost, because so far as he knew, he definitely should have been there by now. Maybe he'd made a wrong turn at that last gargoyle or something? "Great," he said sarcastically to no one in particular, readjusting his grip on the box of stuff he'd been given as much as he could; he'd been walking around for awhile now, and it was starting to get heavy, especially with the addition of the rat in a cage on top of everything else. "Just great. Kidnapped, stuck, and now lost; exactly how I felt like spending my day..."

"Oh, don't say that...the poor little guy. You're going to hurt its feelings."

She held out her hand to the academy staff member, to see if the rat would let her hold him, even as she looked back towards Lea. "And even if it's true, you don't have to be mean about it. It's not his fault any more than it is yours. And besides, being told that you're unwanted would hurt anyone's feelings, don't you think?"

Lea sighed. "Look, it's nothing personal," he said, setting the box down at his feet for the moment. "I'm sure it's a perfectly nice rat and will probably make a great pet for somebody. But so far today I've been magically kidnapped, trapped in another world, and basically told that if I don't learn how to use this world's magic I'll literally die, probably in a very icky way. I don't need a random animal dropped in my lap on top of all that, OK?"

dis-orientation
Maybe this would have been more reassuring to someone who wasn't hanging upside-down from a window.
"Hey, neat coat! Is that becoming a fashion trend?" Because she could've sworn she'd seen someone else wearing it.
Re: dis-orientation
"And thanks," he said. "It does stand out, doesn't it?" Which was ironic, given how the goal of the Organization had been to remain largely unnoticed. "Far as I know though, it's not becoming a trend, though given the weather around here, I'm probably not the only one wearing a long coat."
Re: dis-orientation
With that "settled", she calmly began to climb down. Still upside-down, all the while.
"And I've definitely seen at least one other person wearing one of those. Must help when you're trying to sneak in the shadows!"
Re: dis-orientation
The more detailed comment about seeing someone else wearing a coat like his got his attention, though. If it wasn't just someone in an unrelated black long coat, that could spell big trouble. "Yeah," he agreed. "Unfortunately, it's not much good for sneaking anywhere else. Anyway, did you happen to see what the other person wearing a coat like mine looked like? I'm wondering if it might be somebody I know from back home." No need to potentially alarm the kid, just in case it turned out to be nothing.

Wild Card (Ka Dorms)
The owl fluttering above her head gave a hoot that seemed reassuring enough, and Kamala looked up at it with a small smile, leaving her further distracted - enough so to walk directly into one of her new dormmates.
"Oh! I'm sorry!"
Re: Wild Card (Ka Dorms)
"It's OK," he said. "It's been that kind of day for a lot of people. Least I'm assuming you're like me, and are among the latest batch of magical kidnappees around here."

"Anyway, nice to meet you, Kamala," he said. "My name's Lea."

Unfamiliar
"If I might interject, perhaps I can be of some assistance. As a Wizard who has now had two familiars, and until recently utterly ignored my first one, I have learned some difficult lessons the hard way that can perhaps aid you now. Familiars are not a burden or a nameless class feature as they might seem, they are in fact an integral and valued member of the team."
"Aw, V," the familiar started. "That's actually kind of ni..."
V kept talking, as if the bird had not spoken. "No, one should avoid the trap of ignoring one's familiar, for falling into that trap can lead one to dire peril. If I might be so bold, I recommend that you name the familiar at once, if it does not already possess a name of its own, as Willard did when we became bonded. Lo, for you shall see that the benefits are many to you as a wizard, to heed your familiar."
"And it is the right thing to do as an actual person who cares about others," Willard prompted, dryly.
"Ah, yes. That as well."
It was a work in progress.
Re: Unfamiliar
"Well that'd be great," Lea said, "except I'm not a wizard, and I've got no ambitions to be a wizard. I'm here because I was magically kidnapped, dragged across time and space by the seat of my metaphorical pants, and trapped in another world where I've been told that if I don't learn how to use at least a little of their world's magic I'll actually die, probably in a very icky way. The last thing I need is to have a random animal dumped in my lap too on top of all that."
Re: Unfamiliar
"None of us chose to be here, I would have thought that my appearance alone would have made it abundantly clear that I am not a native to this land, that I, like you are among the sundered. I have crucial business back on my plane that requires a primary spellcaster. However, while we are here, to fail to avail ourselves of the opportunity to learn all of the arcane arts that we can. Further, when I or someone else manages to learn the way to return us to our respective proper places and times, should that be an issue. If the gods are kind, and past experience has made that a dubious comfort at best, then time is not an issue. If it is then the spells required to restore us to our homes will be exponentially more difficult The short version of the situation is that until we are able to return home, we have no reason to resist the opportunities presented to us. We can learn these skills and take these levels home with us when we return. Think of them as a prestige class if that will make it easier for you to comprehend. As you are not a wizard, you will likely not be of aid in the spells we are researching to return us from whence we came, therefore, you have little to do BUT learn, which I admit is a rather enviable position. Take advantage of the rapid XP gain this place offers."
Re: Unfamiliar
"And beyond the amount of magic that I have to learn to avoid blowing up, or whatever, what, exactly, am I supposed to learn here that would be at all useful to me once I get back home?", he said. "By all appearances, the magic here is too different to be compatible, and that goes double with regards to my powers. And sitting around in a classroom has never been my thing in any world. I'm not really in a position to refuse the room and board for now, but aside from that, I want as little to do with this school and this world as possible. Got it memorized?"

Dis-orientation
"Art class is in + 6 hours, you zero. Minus yourself until then. you're subtracting from my arts and crafts time."
The man flexed his hands, drawing attention to the blackness that engulfed one of them ending in a flame like design around his lower arm.

dis-orientation
Ax-- uh, Lea?
[Nice (and unexpected) as it is to see anyone he's familiar with, Sora's surprise comes with the small hope that maybe this means there's actually a Super Secret Reason why they've both been sent here; like it's part of some extended training, or a mission of some kind..? He can't help casually glancing around Lea a bit in hopes that Kairi's with him, even if he knows full well it's likely not the case.
Still, he doesn't exactly want to seem like he's not glad to see Lea himself, so he shakes the sentiment off and laces his hands behind his head, grinning at him.]
Hey, aren't you a little old to be in school?
Re: dis-orientation
Sora! Man, it's good to see a familiar face!
{Lea sets the box down at his feet to more easily talk to his friend.]
That's what I said, but that doesn't seem to matter to the people who decided to basically kidnap us all. Besides, I'm told if I don't learn to use at least a bit of magic here, the results could get pretty icky eventually.
Re: dis-orientation
[He doesn't dwell on it for very long, in any case, instead grimacing at the very mention of the magic in this place.]
Don't even remind me! I have to relearn all my magic. I can't even cast Fire anymore and I learned that, like, years ago.

Un-familiar
"They're not going to listen to reason."
For example, the result of his own argument took the form of a sleek gray cat, which has been doing its best to try to trip him as it wraps around his ankles and waves in-between his feet. it's honestly lucky he has no interest in harming something so small, or he already might have with the mood he's in.
Re: Un-familiar
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Lea interrupted. "Tradition and bonding and character building and all that good stuff."
Turning his attention to the blonde man, he said. "You know, you'd think that sooner or later they'd figure out that just asking us whether we wanted something or not before springing it on us would save a lot of time and effort, but apparently that's not a thing they're big on around here."
no subject
Granted, there was probably someone out there who would argue that he did have a pet, but he had never thought of his dragon that way and she could take care of herself when she wasn't in her card.
But that argument hadn't worked on the staff he'd already tried to argue with or on the cat who has just decided to lay down on his foot, so he's not going to waste his breath arguing much more with this guy, and he turns back to the red-haired man instead.
"That does seem to be a trend, doesn't it? Unfortunately, the animals seems to be in on it too. It's probably going to follow you whether you want it to or not."
