[Semi-OPEN] Time for a Night Out!
Who: Spyro and you!
Where: The Night Shift
When: Sporadically during August
What: Spyro invited friends to the Night Shift, or it's your chance encounter with said dragon
Warnings: Probably not, if no one drinks alcohol
A - Dark Hollow
A tavern like the Night Shift is probably an odd place to find a Diatu student, let alone its the only actual dragon (thus far) since the faculty doesn’t encourage such activities. But it was the first place Spyro could find willing to accept him as a customer and accept a fairly complicated custom drink order.
He got a bit more than he bargained for in a good way. The dragon slid over a generous tip for their troubles and was left to enjoy the first and best unicorn frappuccino that he’s tasted since being dumped here by sundering magic and being the new mascot for the bar, whatever that means.
Well. Not entirely left alone.
But the experience was nice enough that Spyro (possibly against better judgment) decided to invite any friend or two to come along with him one night. With advance notice that they’re semi-ironically going to a bar.
Or maybe for some reason you’re a fellow student who just so happened to consider the spot a suitable hangout. Spyro can be seen sipping at his pink drink while rowdy common folk are boasting about who can take the little guy on in the ring or loudly shout challenges his way.
B - Spyro’s Ring
Said challenges are annoying sometimes, but it’s a good way for Spyro to show his stuff without any serious consequences as long as he keeps his fire breath to a minimum. Because he has noticed while he might be able to just barely get away with setting someone’s pants aflame, their skin is another matter.
He crouches at the ready as if he is a mighty predator far bigger than his actual size, while a brawny tavern regular he doesn’t care to remember the name of at the moment cracks his knuckles.
"Look at ye! A little baby lizard like you ain’t gonna stand a chance!"
"Oh yeah? You planning to sit on me, bubble-butt?"
Both sides are clearly oozing with confidence. This can only end well for one of them.
Wildcard!

Kaiba is perfectly happy with the darkest roast available, thanks. Absolutely no frills. He isn't thrilled about the locale either, but a small part of him feels an obligation to the purple dragon, and that's what's brought him here.
He downs an absolutely bitter cup of coffee, shaking his head. "I don't know how you haven't turned into a cotton candy cloud by now."

Kisara's sighing softly to herself as she's somehow tagged along, because there's only a few places she's remotely feeling comfortable with at this point in time. And trying out new things isn't always a bad idea, even if she's trying this... unicorn drink thing.
Immediately she's scrunching her nose up in actual disgust and slowly pushing it away from her. "What is this?"
no subject
"Because I don't drink these all the time." is his answer to Kaiba.
Meanwhile, if Kisara doesn't want hers, he'll slowly start sliding it the rest of the way towards himself. "And you're Kisara, did I say that right? We could get you something else."
no subject
He rolls his eyes as Spyro takes Kisara's abandoned drink. "This isn't the usual atmosphere I'd associate with going out for coffee either...what possessed you to come here?"
no subject
"Ah, yeah, that would be me... I wouldn't mind trying something else? I'm not... too sure what the problem with that was other than it was a lot." It's too sweet, is what she means, not that she really quite grasps that particular taste right now.
"... Not that I really know what a coffee exactly is, either." Look. Look, she really is going to have all the culture shock here.
no subject
While he didn't take to that particular art, Spyro knows a little something thanks to a certain barista dragon.
"I was looking for a place that would... sell drinks to dragons-" Spyro starts, carefully avoiding the word 'serve' considering the reputation his kind has. "... and now I'm their mascot. Whatever that means besides free drinks."
no subject
"Mm, then this place is good for something after all. And the drink isn't bad either."
He turned his attention back to Kisara. "There's...a certain negative history between humans and dragons in this world. But I could order a few strengths for you, and cream...I have a feeling I might need to drink the rest if we're to watch a bar fight."
He lifts a hand to wave someone over and ask for just that.

Of course there'd be some issue with dragons in this place too and she can't help but let out a soft sigh, sounding way too exhausted about all of it. "Somehow I am not surprised that that is the case, people fear that they don't understand." At least she has the luxury of the dragon being dormant for the time being, unlike Spyro.
"Honestly, the more I learn the more I can compare it to other things." Which is honestly a fair point, you can't compare things to other things if you don't know what those things even are.
This is probably going to be a bad idea to put that much caffeine near her, though.

His dragonfly buddy is busy getting his own late-night snack, chomping on a stray moth that was fluttering near one of the lights.

"Here's your first lesson: the taste is bitter but invigorating. You can dull it with cream or a small amount of sugar if you want, but I prefer the strongest hit."
Yup. He's gonna be wide awake tonight.
no subject
She's pursing her lips for a moment as she's examining this whole nonsense, this is not familiar. In the slightest.
"Cream and sugar?" Bitter but invigorating, that sounds a little familiar to her. And simple enough to understand, of course she's quietly going to smell each one of them first to see if that gives her any hints. Not... exactly, which is a little strange to her.
"How do you know which is which?"
no subject
"Is it the color?" he decides to ask, leaving the other simple questions for Kaiba to explain. "I don't drink coffee anyway."
no subject
"This is cream." He swishes it in the container. "The crystals are sugar...but if you're not sure what you're holding, you'll want to taste a little on your finger first before you go dumping it on anything. It looks identical to salt, which has the opposite taste."
He demonstrates and makes a face. "...as I said, identical. This is salt. Here's the sugar. Maybe I should've just ordered something hard."
no subject
"Identical to salt..." She'll have to keep that in mind, though she's blinking slowly as he's making that face. Ah.
"Something hard?" She's going to quietly take that sugar either way and just try a sip of each before adding gradually to the sugar and cream. Maybe something will make her not hate it.
