gonna step up - step up - step right up
Who: Dewey and YOUEY
Where: The Docks
When: Mid-August
What: Dewey and Friends attend the traveling festival! Open post! If you've ever threaded with him, he considers you a Friend and would have invited you in a BBS post. Feel free to start a TL at some other specific event if you want to skip the lead-up: rigged games, sideshow attractions, maybe gawking at the Manticore of Munn ...
Warnings: will be added if they become A Thing
The minute Dewey heard the rumors going around that there was a traveling festival in town, he knew he had to go. Noctis was right: it was high time he got back down into the city, despite the fact that he and Rapunzel had gotten so hopelessly lost a few weeks ago. This time, he was going prepared: a map from the library was tucked into his backpack, with plenty of room left over for cheap midway winnings and souvenirs he didn't even need, but would absolutely hoard anyway.
He left a quick note on the bulletin board, addressed to anyone he even remotely considered a friend: Guys hey let's go to the dock festival meet you outside the path to town k we're DEWING THIS - Dewey
Anyone who wanted to meet up with him could find him bouncing on the balls of his feet, too excited to stand still.

As for Webby, the reason was pretty easy. "Eh, Mrs. Beakley's just really protective of her, because sometimes super crazy stuff happens in my world. We have witches and shadow demons and spy organizations and supervillains and regular jerks like the Beagle Boys... But Webby can totally take care of herself."
When Isabel pointed at the milk bottles, he started jumping with her, because really, it was awesome to hang with someone who got just as excited about things. "Yeah! And you're tall, so getting the ones on top should be easy! Go on, give it a shot!"

She listened to Dewey relate all the weird stuff that happened in his world, and nodded with enthusiasm. "That makes sense, then. I mean, not that weird stuff doesn't happen where I'm from, too. Zombie invasions, magic-eating dogs, herds of anklebiting gnomes, angry undines...the list goes on."
She grinned, then. "Give me some feather for luck, then!" She leaned down to offer him her clenched fist, then stepped up to the counter, all confidence, once she'd gotten that fistbump. "Okay, give me six balls, please!"
Coins exchanged hands, and then Isabel received her ammunition. The first three balls missed, but then, she slowed down a bit, really scrutinizing first one can tower, then another. Wham! One went down. She missed at first aim at the second, then, with another bang, she took down the second tower she'd aimed at.
"Haha, yeah! Okay so you pick one of the small ones, and what do you think I ought to get for El?" Not that there weren't an assortment of dolls and such to choose from as prizes.
