The Bodyswap Post One: Nothing Wrong With Me In the blink of an eye, disaster strikes: disaster, in the form of a chaotic misassociation of minds and bodies. Everyone immediately blames Headmaster Birony. But for once, zaniness isn't her fault; a faulty spell has collapsed and sprawled across the campus like so much mayonnaise falling from an ice cream scoop, infused with powerful chaotic energies that make it so difficult to counteract. And so here you are: trapped in a body that is not yours. Something's Got To Give At the same time, the multicolored, feathered, amorphous blob monster has emerged without warning, lurching from its attenuated connections with the two innocent students who were used for its summonings into the light of day once more. As they promised, the faculty immediately springs into action, capturing the beast in an immense and convoluted magical cage, which it promptly squirts out of because it is now the size of a cantaloupe. In this form, the creature has no power beyond annoyance, and the staff are pretty distracted at the moment (Professor King, for example, is currently a frog), so catching it is low priority. Students are advised to be cautious around it, as it has a tendency to gnaw on things like homework, legs, buildings, and complicated spellwork. On the other hand, wouldn't catching it be worth some renown and recognition -- especially if you managed it in a body not your own? Push Me Again, This Is The End Perhaps shockingly, the Sundered aren't the only people affected by this mess of Modification. Students by the dozen find themselves in the wrong bodies, and that means the Magicademy is chaos. Cat familiars given human form raid the newly-reopened Great Hall, stealing every piece of food they can and knocking down every glass, book, or valuable item left on a horizontal surface above ground height. Unscrupulous souls take advantage of the anonymity in new forms to steal, bully, swipe, or even just catch a glimpse of attractive students of their desired gender at inopportune moments. Others are taking respect of their new bodies so far that they, well, kind of smell thanks to their unwillingness to bathe. Though classes continue as normal, attendance is a nightmare. In short, chaos rules the Magicademy, and spills over uncomfortably often into those doing their best to muddle through... LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR! LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR! LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! This is the wildcard option. We just wanted to put that in a heading. Bodies? Bodyswap? Get it? Eh? Eh? Never mind...

At this point Atem was still blissfully unaware of the shenanigans that were about to ensue, and had effected some of his fellow students already. Therefore as he strolled down the hallway he had no insight as to why 'Kaiba' was looking so flustered as he exited the tower to Purifel. Still, he was curious about it so he moved over to investigate, and assist if need be.

"Kaiba, don't tell me your rainbow curse has extended it's reach beyond opening tomes... has it?" A hint of a smirk tracing his lips.

...huh?! Rainbows? [ what? he's not expect to bump into atem, but for half a second he looks relieved... that is until he remembers he's in kaiba's body. o- oh, uhm, should he pretend to be kaiba or... ] Other me! [ well that probably sounds stranger than strange. he grabs for his wrist and tugs him into the nearest alcove. ] I- I don't know what you're talking about, but something crazy is going on.

Kaiba had been so irritated about the rogue spell before that it seemed peculiar for him to have already wiped the incident from his memory. Then there was also that expression he'd briefly projected. "................................................................ Come again?" Atem tried scanning the area with his eyes, wondering if Yugi could have possibly put Kaiba up to this? They seemed to be alone however.

"... Kaiba? Are you-" The words caught in his throat as he was pulled away to a more private setting.

"..................That is one way of putting it, yes." He looked up at Kaiba's face for a few extra moments before venturing to say," Yugi....? Is... it really you in there?"

As soon as he's got Atem cornered in the alcove he takes his shoulders and leans down to talk quietly, which is weird in and of itself, because Kaiba is so damn tall and Atem is so damn short. "I'm fine. I'm not Kaiba though." Atem seems to have caught on quickly, which is a relief, so Yugi lets him go and slumps back against the opposite wall. "It's me, Atem. I don't really know what happened, but I think me and Kaiba might have... switched bodies... or at least I hope he's in mine, because otherwise I don't know where it is or what it's doing."

It's more than a little awkward, and Atem bites his lip as he wills his face not to darken. Whether it's Yugi or Kaiba this move seems a little more intimate than it truthfully should be. They were already in an alcove, Yugi should feel at ease to speak freely without encroaching on personal boundaries.

He draws an easy breath when the other backs off a bit.

"Then it seems like the first thing we should do is locate your body, and make certain of that." Not relishing the idea that Yugi's body could be an empty vessel now and that Kaiba's soul could be roaming elsewhere. Looking to the puzzle around his neck he expelled a sigh. "If I was in possession of my powers..... it would have been an easy solution." Recalling an earlier time when he had to restore a soul to it's proper location before.

It's embarrassing. He doesn't want other people to know that he's switched bodies, though he should probably be even more concerned that Kaiba is potentially in his body scowling at all of his friends. Oh man, he's going to have to make a lot of apologies later, since he imagines he's not thrilled about the switch. Yugi isn't either, but he'll make do until a solution is found.

"Good idea. Did you happen to see if it was at the dorms earlier? O- Or should we make that the first place we check? H- Heh, yeah," He joins him in looking at the puzzle. "I guess you don't have access to any of your powers? You just got the puzzle back." Reaching down he brushes his fingers against it. "Even so, I'm glad it's back where it rightfully belongs."

You might also be concerned that your boyfriend will now have more knowledge about your body than you likely wanted him to at this stage, but... Atem will wisely not bring that up. Besides he knows Kaiba won't take advantage of the situation. Your friends will understand when this is all sorted out, or so he believed.

"..... I think you were there- er... it was." I mean they did share a dorm room, but now he was trying to retrace the day. "Mm, we better check there first. It's the most logical choice."

"No," As far as he knew. Atem had participated in this month's research however. He watched as Yugi reached over to touch the puzzle, but was silent a little thereafter. Honestly, he wasn't sure if it was a positive sign or a negative one that the puzzle had reappeared. It usually only tended to do so when there was much that needed to be accomplished. "Mm, at least this way I'll be able to control it should it's powers return."

H- He's not thinking about that sort of stuff, Atem, and it's not like he had taken the time to check out Kaiba. He respects him too much to do something like that. I- If and when the times comes, o- or something. He's just kind of glad it's Kaiba and not somebody else... though he supposes anybody else wouldn't do much harm either. Who knows.

"I know for a fact I was at some point, but I guess whether or not I'm still there is another story." This is bound to get complicated.

It had been a while since he'd see the puzzle, especially hanging around his or Atem's neck. He was reminiscent of their shared bond and body, which is probably why his expression softens. "I'm glad it's back where it belongs." Because should something happen maybe Atem could tap into its power again.

"Alright, let's go." He's going to take off for their dorm, though he'll probably have to dial it back a bit, since he can run so much faster than Atem now.
