The Bodyswap Post One: Nothing Wrong With Me In the blink of an eye, disaster strikes: disaster, in the form of a chaotic misassociation of minds and bodies. Everyone immediately blames Headmaster Birony. But for once, zaniness isn't her fault; a faulty spell has collapsed and sprawled across the campus like so much mayonnaise falling from an ice cream scoop, infused with powerful chaotic energies that make it so difficult to counteract. And so here you are: trapped in a body that is not yours. Something's Got To Give At the same time, the multicolored, feathered, amorphous blob monster has emerged without warning, lurching from its attenuated connections with the two innocent students who were used for its summonings into the light of day once more. As they promised, the faculty immediately springs into action, capturing the beast in an immense and convoluted magical cage, which it promptly squirts out of because it is now the size of a cantaloupe. In this form, the creature has no power beyond annoyance, and the staff are pretty distracted at the moment (Professor King, for example, is currently a frog), so catching it is low priority. Students are advised to be cautious around it, as it has a tendency to gnaw on things like homework, legs, buildings, and complicated spellwork. On the other hand, wouldn't catching it be worth some renown and recognition -- especially if you managed it in a body not your own? Push Me Again, This Is The End Perhaps shockingly, the Sundered aren't the only people affected by this mess of Modification. Students by the dozen find themselves in the wrong bodies, and that means the Magicademy is chaos. Cat familiars given human form raid the newly-reopened Great Hall, stealing every piece of food they can and knocking down every glass, book, or valuable item left on a horizontal surface above ground height. Unscrupulous souls take advantage of the anonymity in new forms to steal, bully, swipe, or even just catch a glimpse of attractive students of their desired gender at inopportune moments. Others are taking respect of their new bodies so far that they, well, kind of smell thanks to their unwillingness to bathe. Though classes continue as normal, attendance is a nightmare. In short, chaos rules the Magicademy, and spills over uncomfortably often into those doing their best to muddle through... LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR! LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR! LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! This is the wildcard option. We just wanted to put that in a heading. Bodies? Bodyswap? Get it? Eh? Eh? Never mind...

[ She's heard the chaos, so she can't quite be sure who she's talking to. ]

[It's understandable that someone would ask Webby if she wanted to investigate, even if they weren't sure it was her. And it's not - the flat look Sunset gets is all Louie.]

Louie, no, and are you still... [He cannot remember her name, as they've only met once beyond in passing.] ...You?

Oh! You're Louie! Ah.

Hi. Yeah, I'm still Sunset Shimmer. Trying to figure out up from down around here. You feeling okay...considering?

[Louie shrugs.]

I mean, it didn't hurt to swap, or anything, but- Yeah, I can't pretend this isn't super weird.

It'll be okay. I'll keep looking for the cause and hopefully we can get everyone back, because the effect seems to be spreading.

Did you notice anything unusual today?

Yeah, probably? It's Diatu Magicademy. Everything here is pretty unusual.

Right, but this is...a little more serious than usual. I'm picturing some giant monster causing this, or a spilled potion. Maybe there's something all the targets have in common...

What was the last thing you did before this happened?

I guess. It could have been one of those monsters the staff sort of got rid of, but this didn't happen when they first showed up. And a potion... I don't know. Don't you usually need to drink those? Or at least have them touch you, or breathe them in, like that one time.

I wasn't doing anything unusual, either, I was bringing some breakfast scraps back to my dorm for my rat.

Huh. Do you think it was in the food?

[ Sunset sighs. ]

But I had breakfast, so that can't be right. Maybe it's a delayed reaction. Ugh, this is so weird! It'd be less weird if we all changed into...I don't know. Snakes, or something.

Well... If someone mixed a potion into the food as a prank, they would've had to sneak around to do it, so they may not have had the time to mix it all in evenly.

[A casual shrug.]

It could have been the food, then.

WOW, I'M SO TALL NOW! I'm going to do ALL THE TALL THINGS!

{ Sunset is more than a little disoriented. It's not her first form change, but she's never been a duck with the unique challenges before. She spots a nearby chair and climbs on it. ]

Okay, okay. Webby. Anything I should know about being you?

[woo_oo]

Oh! Well, you're pretty strong now. You could kick someone's butt if you wanted to!

... I WONDER IF I CAN CLIMB THINGS FASTER NOW!

[She jolts to a nearby wall, trying to spider-climb.]

I...could? Huh.

[ Sunset watches this with a worried expresssion. ]

...uh, my hands don't do that. But they do something else that I should probably warn you about, so, uh...can you come over?

[ Webby can hear her, right? She raises her voice a little. ]

[woo_oo]

[Sorta??? She did try to climb - and fell flat on her butt as a result.]

Oof! ... Well, that's a bummer.

[burningbrighter]

[ Sunset...isn't really suitably sized to help her up, but she'll go check on her anyway. ]

Are you okay?

Just...be careful touching people with your hands. If you linger too long, you'll see into their thoughts for a little bit. It's useful, but also kind of weird.

[woo_oo]

[Boy, that's one hell of a distraction - she whips her head around.]

You have psychic hands?!

[burningbrighter]

Yeah, just...be careful with them. You can wear gloves if you don't want to deal with it, I keep them in my robe pocket. And you'll space out for a minute if you use the power, so remember that.

[woo_oo]

[She slowly turns to Sunset, her fingers wiggling.

She... might want to try out it out on you, Sunburst.]

Going into people's heads just with a noogie...

Be careful with it!

[ Sunset can only see one way out of this: showing her. She thrusts her hand forward and grabs Webby's, drawing her into her memory.

Sunset crawls through a portal at the base of a statue, looking at her hands in mild confusion. Weren't they hooves a minute ago? She looks around at the other strange beings with bodies like this and leans on the statue to climb up, casually smiling at the passing students.

'Hey, uh...just had a really weird lunch. Don't mind me!'

She wobbles a fair bit, but makes it to the looming school doors with a small smile. ]

That...

... WAS AWESOME! I wanna do that to everyone!

...please don't? Or at least ask them first?

That kind of power is way too strong. If you use it when someone isn't expecting it, you could see something they don't want you to see. And then they'll be afraid of you.

[ Well. Her. They'd be afraid of Sunset since she's using her face. And that would be the worst. ]

Oooh, yeah, that would be bad! I don't want my friends afraid of me, only my enemies!
