Be Careful What You Wish For: A Beach Adventure Crowded Quarters To the joy and delight of the Sundered students who feel joy and delight over going to the beach, the Sundered students get to go to the beach in celebration of their completed midterms! Professor Trammel has graciously paid their way on the local airship, which runs regular routes on summer days to the ocean some 45 minutes away, and so every student who so desires can pack up and head onto it to enjoy a fantastic day of fun and adventure! Slight downside: the airship is small and packed, as it keeps its fees low by relying on volume to turn a profit. The crowded travel compartment is standing-room-only, and even those who are lucky enough to get seats won't find themselves with much shoulder room. Some people may even find themselves in the lap of a fellow student, which only the most cynical and bitter of minds would abuse as a way to ship-tease (right?). The trip isn't long, just hot and stuffy. You can make it, students! Wave Your Hands If You're Shore The beach at last! Though the hot sun beats down from above, a gentle breeze blows in from the ocean and the water itself is delightfully cool without being icy cold. Waves run about five to six feet in height, enough to be forceful without dominating like some giant curl suitable only for surfing. Though scores of people have set up tents, umbrellas, blankets, and towels across the sands, the Diatu contingent has plenty of space to conjure up tables and chairs, an awning and plenty of shade. Professor Trammel politely deploys Spells of Sunscreening, as well as directing students to the swimwear the school has obtained and the screened canvas changing areas where they can don them. Helpfully, he's obtained all manner of suits to fit any taste, so... choose wisely? Baskets of sandwiches and drinks kept magically chilled offer sustenance for the busy swimmers, and all manner of balls, nets, and beach toys to enjoy. The Sand Castle Contest Early in the afternoon, Professor Trammel announces that a sand castle contest is open to all participants! The rules are as follows: 1. Headmaster Birony is forbidden from competing. (At this, Headmaster Birony sulkily turns Makerion Keep back into stone and sends it back to the Magicademy Campus. Ka students will be finding sand in odd places for a while.) 2. Students may work in teams of no more than 2. 3. You will have an hour to work with any of the sand-castle tools available. 4. Judging will be on creativity, quality, and durability. 5. 'Bedmaster Hirony' is forbidden from competing. (Headmaster Birony rips her fake mustache off and throws it to the ground in frustration.) You have a few minutes to form pairs and get ready. Who will win the competition? Teachers' Day Off Some of the Professors, too, have taken the day off! Students are treated to the sight of Professor Trammel digging a hole in the surf so his own knocked-together sand structure goes up against the waves, leaving him to improve its walls and channels each time to make for a better hope of surviving. Professor King is teaching anyone who will listen about a new game she calls Sunder-inlota, which involved lobbing a ball through portals to get it into the other team's goal. Headmaster Birony occupies herself doing a Sorcerer's Apprentice thing with the waves, making them smash and crash against each other with glee, while Professors Porfsin and Trent fail to put campus politics aside and both spend the day trying to attract an audience with their own personal performances. And Professor Kith just... swims and enjoys herself, like a normal human being, which is probably in violation of the Adequate Wackiness In Teaching Staff Proclamation, but no one seems inclined to call her on it. Fire in the Sky As darkness falls over the beach, swimming comes to an end as the gathered people move to get home, their day off done. The Magicademy, however, still has some tricks up its organizational sleeve. With fires conjured along the sands, the Professors take turns cooking -- simple fare like sausages and hamburger patties, that even the less adept among them (coughCamBironycough) can't screw up. And as the last vestiges of sunlight vanish behind the horizon and the beach and ocean are both swept in darkness, Professor Trammel pulls off his final flourish: a Discovery of beautiful lights exploding in the sky, a mixture between fireworks and aurora borealis that paints the night in glory. All in all, not a bad day.

Dewey Duck & Webby Vanderquack

Dewey and Webby's sculpture is a ten-foot replica of Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin, appropriately located on an outcropping of rocks, with the signature dollar sign made from inlaid stones and shells. The door near the top is open a crack, allowing a flood of sand dollars and sea glass to spill out from within, making a trail down to the water. If you look inside, you'll see that they started on the inside and there's even a tiny sand-Scrooge (not quite lifelike but a decent attempt) swimming in the loot.

The Great Duckish Beach-Off! (for Webby)

The minute Trammel says the words "sand castle contest", Dewey's beak opens and he's lunging for his BFF, tugging at her sleeve. "WEBBY WEBBY WEBBY WEBBY WE GOTTA."

Diatu Rollercoaster Ride

Dewey's never surfed, but those waves are just begging for it, and that pile of beach toys is promising. Once he's changed into a pair of (blue!) swim trunks from the school stash and properly sunscreen-bespelled, he grabs a surfboard and heads into the water.

It takes him a little struggling, but he manages to finally get aboard, wobbling until he gets his balance.

"... Okay, now what?"

After Bedmaster Hirony gets kicked out of the competition and he and Webby have finished their bin, Dewey goes to find her, watching her set the waves against one another.

"I'm sorry they wouldn't let you build with us. I bet you could have made something super awesome. What were you gonna do?"

His belly is full of beach fare, his blanket is fuzzy, the air is comfortable, and he's got his friends and family (mostly) all around. He even got to try a couple of new things. As things go, this is high on the Dew-O-Meter of Good Days. He lets out a hefty, happy sigh, then idly lifts his wand and flicks it toward the sky, sending a tiny point of light up to join the rest. He can't do much yet, but he can add his own piece.

[Eleven takes to occupying a bit of wall, though in a risky move, turns his back to the crowd in order to better write on a sheet of crumpled paper. He has a permanent grin on his face as he works on it, and following up on his quick query on the bulletin board, innocently asks for input from anyone he catches eyes with]

[Eleven dons the swim shorts, though in the midst of changing, elects to keep his undershirt on. Though a sword remains by his claimed patch of sand, his worries are far away and he takes to the beach with single-minded glee.

The water is perfect for a delighted jump into the waves, swimming out only to be overtaken by the waves and swallow sea water. He comes up sputtering and spitting, but still grinning and throws a good-natured splash toward anyone in range.

He's not as familiar with the sports played on the sand, and doesn't have the first idea of how to build a sand castle, but he's eager to learn and doesn't let that stop him from refusing any invitations to play.

Occasionally, over the course of the day, he can be seen consulting a list and sending Hendrik away on any of various errands with a voice that laughs too easily to be as authoritative as he attempts to make each of his 'orders']

When the first lights exploded in the sky, Eleven thought for a moment they were under attack. But as the sound faded and the lights burst, the crowd’s marvel took over. They were bright and beautiful and like nothing he’d ever seen. They reminded him of the spectacle at the dance- an overwhelming sense of awe and fondness that left his own world feeling like a distant consideration. Full of well-cooked food and watching the night fall only to be lit by bursts of color, a rare sense of peace stole over him.

Tidus seems to be surprised by the question. He lifts his head, awkwardly leaning back to attempt to give the guy some room. It doesn't seem to work too well.

"Never been? Well...some people like to just bathe in the sun. Sometimes they cook food at night. Me, I'm mostly a swimmer, though you can play a few good games with a ball too."

With the midterms behind them, Atem was a little dubious as to whether he should be heading to the beach or not. Sure, he had done moderately well on the exams but it was more of a wake up call that he needed to tend a bit more to his studies. It was kind of embarrassing really. He was used to having such a strong connection to magic in his own dimension that he might have taken it for granted here. Also, the Millennium puzzle might have arrived recently but it did not seem to have brought it's powers along with it. Perhaps the puzzle had been trying to warn him of his oversight before.

By some miracle, Atem managed to secure a seat for himself. As the ship started to fill to capacity however, he started to feel a pang of guilt. He might offer this seat up to another who needed it more, otherwise he might end up in that aforementioned uncomfortable situation where someone ended up on his lap. It's not that he would have minded standing up for the duration of the journey, assuming of course that the beach wasn't far off.

Eyes lingering the questionable nature of this suit, Atem wisely had selected the more sedate trunks. Finding a stall to change in, he soon hit the beach, in just the trunks and the ornate gaudy necklace he never seemed to be without now. Sure, it was probably safe to leave the Millennium puzzle at the dorm, but he couldn't chance it.

Not feeling particuliarly shy about exposing more skin, this actually felt a little more natural to him.

There was only one problem, and that was.... he didn't know where to start. So he aimed down to the waters edge allowing it to lap over his feet, getting a feel for it. A swim wouldn't be bad, and the excercise would be worth it, but he couldn't help looking at the surfers and taking an interest in that.

Sand Castle Contest

Being a competitive sort himself, the contest was appealing. Besides it would be interesting to see how creative everyone was being. Striding to the area that was dedicated to construction he looked at the various sand piles in different layers of completion as he also looked for anyone that was not currently partnered up. Sure, he could ask Kaiba or Yugi, but ..... they might have partnered up with each other already which usually seemed to be the case.

It isn't hard to find a place to set his back to a wall here, and that's just where he wants to be. Better there on his own two legs rather than staring at an endless sea of groins and rear ends, or worse yet, with some rude stranger unexpectedly in his lap. He can't help but notice a familiar face in all of it, though by now he knows most of the students' faces, if not their names to go with them.

"How early were you here on the ship that you were able to secure a seat such as that?" He isn't asking to trade, he simply is, as always, curious.

An accidental touch from a pretty lady, causing us both to blush? Close proximity with one another, as the air heats up from the crowd and our secret embarrassment? This is what student life is all about!

Perhaps one could make the kid's day, if you're a pretty lady. Or do the opposite, if you're a dude.

Eventful airship journey or not, Kazuma now has a new goal in mind: Bikini Watching.

Clothed in a sensible pair of swim trunks, green ones of course, he quickly finds some suitable foliage as cover to survey the sands for buxom beauties.

With his stealthy lurking skill in full effect, the hormonal peeper would be hard to spot, but certainly not impossible. So make a spot check, I guess?

Fishing damn it

Going to the beach meant one thing for Noctis: Fishing. So he found a place and got a somewhat decent rod and lures for the trip. They weren't like the ones back home, but the king would just have to make do. And at least here he could fish as long as he wanted and not have people crabbing at him to leave or stand around and complain at him about it.

So he found a nice quiet spot away from everyone and threw his line out. It gave him time to think and Noct found that he'd missed doing something so simple.

The Sand Castle Contest

After some appalled glances at the Headmaster for abducting the Keep, Tenn is conscious about putting away his wand in the pocket of his white linen shirt. He intends to play fair.

When was the last time he built a sandcastle? Maybe half a year ago with his teammate’s younger brothers? They were very experienced at it. Perhaps he can find someone equally good... Tenn collects his preferred materials and weaves through the mingling students, seeking someone also ready to build the old-fashioned way.

"Have you done this before? Without magic, I mean."


Teachers' Day Off (NPC call-out, but can double as a team-up for the game!)

As infuriating straight-A a student as Tenn is, it was apparent during exams that Sundering was his most challenging class... probably because he took his time and redrew the circles multiple times to make SURE they were precise. He passed, thankfully, but with an acute awareness of his weak points. So when Professor King begins demonstrating small portals for Sunder-inlota, he lingers nearby to watch and learn.

"Is it okay to draw them here? We’ll be running around and kicking up sand, after all."

And although he wasn’t fond of bala-inlota, Tenn joins in for a match. From the way he’s eyeing the opposing team, the dance floor isn’t the only place he’s competitive.


Fire in the Sky

As the show begins, Tenn retreats from the lively, lighted area to a perch on rocks some distance away, where he can enjoy the show in relative darkness. The fireworks bring a familiar smile to his face; he grew up with them, after all. But the addition of the aura raises a fading memory that makes him tense, casting a shadow over his enjoyment. When someone finds him, he almost welcomes the distraction.

"I wish the professors would talk about merging Fantastics and Discovery more often. You can do wonderful things during performances. Imagine if water effects were added... or lightning, perhaps...."

Considering how things have gone back in school, with demons in the fountain and all, either her definition of control is suspect, or the concept of control as it applies to Sundering is quite alien.

[As much progress as Fluttershy has made with her timidity, she still had some trouble when it came to being around large crowds. And with everyone packed in the small space, she was starting to feel really nervous. Especially since being so crammed together meant that she didn't have any space to flee if she needed to.

She may need a friendly presence to help her remember to breathe.]

Wave Your Hands If You're Shore

[She hadn't been to the beach since summer vacation, so it was nice to get out and see the ocean. While the options for swimwear didn't include anything like the full-body swimsuit she was comfortable with, she found a nice suit to wear instead. And it was nice, feeling the gentle sea spray against her skin as the wind blew through her hair.

Though she couldn't help laughing a bit as Tango and Ballet seemed to stay as far away from the water as possible.]

[One of her favorite things to do in the water is to go snorkeling to see underwater creatures. And magic made it a little easier to be underwater for longer.

[When it comes to crowded spaces like this, being a three-foot duck had some advantages, since it meant that Lena could squeeze into smaller places for a bit more room, since other people couldn't fit there.

The downside, though, was that with all the people there, it was easy for her to get overlooked, being so much shorter than other people.]

[In all honesty, Lena's never taken a trip to the beach before. Oh sure, she'd lived near one at the marina. But somehow, living in a hole in the ground was way different than visiting the beach on a trip with classmates.

It was kinda nice...feeling normal.

Still, she wasn't entirely sure how to feel about the swimsuit she somehow ended up with. So she was usually found still wearing an oversized shirt over it, especially as she lay on a beach blanket sunbathing.

Because she may seem like a goth, but she had to admit she was starting to like the light a lot more these days.]

Hel had packed the infinity cloth with a few items for the trip, and was now standing on the airship narrowing her eyes that anyone to dared to jostle it or her. While she could understand the desire to cut expenses this was getting ridiculous. They were packed in here like sardines. If she had known it was going to be this bad then she would have flown along after the ship from the outside.

Not able to take it anymore she snapped at the next person that bumped into her.

"Excuse you, you bumbling oaf." It didn't matter if the person was male, female, human or beast- she didn't care.

Having donned her swimsuit and found a floaty ring to cling onto, she was bobbing up and down on the waves. If asked she would attest to the concept that she could in fact swim, but she would never leave the safety of the inner tube, so draw your own conclusions. Surprisingly she found relaxing difficult without her usual companions. You would think she would be enjoying this more with how quiet it was, but it only highlighted that something was missing.

After staying out there a little longer, she would paddle into shore and find a beach chair with an umbrella to recline under.

Opening the infinity cloth, she took out a book of spells to read over.

Sand Castle

Hel might not have entered the contest, at least not yet but she was busily working on making something. Gathering up bucket loads of sand, she mixed the contents with a little water then dumped each load onto the growing pile. When it was tall enough she began using her hands to smooth out the sides and give form to the figure. She worked quietly on the now massive lump of sand, not really expecting anyone to approach her in the meantime.

When she was finished she stood back to admire her work.

Yup- that was the dopey face of her guard-dog from Helheim, alright. It looked fine, but it was no substitute for the original. Not to be overly sentimental. Garm was likely tending to business as he should be watching over her realm in her absence. It wasn't as if they could both gallivant off to another dimension.

Beach fun was, overall, a very new thing to Dust. He'd never done anything like this in his life, and didn't even have context to put it in from anything he remembered at all.

So the sight of that huge tube, big enough to hold a person, had him pausing it patent confusion. He tried to figure it out, reluctantly concluded he couldn't, and hesitantly asked, "What... is that, anyway?"

Sunset isn't really sure she should go. She's totally stressed from the midterms, and still feeling the shadow of guilt for what she did to Yugi...but any reasonable person would argue that she simply must go. And she has a responsibility to make sure her classmates stay safe.

She can be found awkwardly clinging to a handle hanging from the ceiling, probably smushed right next to you.

"Hey there! Haha. Guess we've gotta sweat it out a bit to get to the fun part, huh."

i'm on a...beach?

Perfect! Sunset's found a black and gold bikini similar to what she'd wear at home, and she could definitely use some sunshine after the past few days. She's finally managed to persuade and save her way to a simple acoustic guitar, and to celebrate the occasion, she'd like to sing.

It takes her a few moments of thought to pick a song. Her mood's been a little off lately, so she finally chooses something uplifting and simple.

The sound that we hear in our hearts, it's a crescendo...
And the light that ignites in the dark, it makes us all glow...
And shine like rainbows~

[ Kaiba hates just about everything about the idea of this trip. He is definitely not a beach person, if his preference for high collars and turtlenecks didn't give that away. He's done more working out lately, but a swimsuit is a bridge too far.

He's going to stubbornly sit in his full uniform on a towel, making it very clear that he's only here to support others. He does, however, roll his sleeves up and loosen his tie. It's as awkward as it sounds. ]

He's already sketching out the beginnings of a truly intimidating draconic fortress blueprint in the sand, muttering to himself and occasionally looking up at potential partners. ]

[ yugi approaches him in a black and red pair of swim trunks and a silly shirt that seems to have a drawing of gandora on it in a half mood shape. there had been a stand not too far from the beach selling plain tees, but yugi had taken the time to spice them up a bit. he gives kaiba a smile along with a shirt that has blue-eyes on it in the opposite half mood shape, so when ‘put together’ they form a circle. ]

I don’t know how you’re not already sweating, but why don’t you put this on instead?

Kuja hasn't been fond of all of the studying, but at least midterms are over, and he has a chance to leave the campus grounds entirely. The cramped space isn't ideal either, he has a simple enough solution for that: back to the wall, wherever he is on the ship, as long as it takes. If there is a deck, he'll be out on it, enjoying the breeze now and then during their relatively short trip. If not, he'll be as near to a window as he can get, back planted firmly against whatever solid surface he can get, tail wrapped snug around one leg so no one will be tempted to grab it and give it a try.

The beach is... just as beachy as he has ever seen them, but it's a welcome change from the forests and buildings and dorms that he'd been used to on the campus. He is pale, and he knows what the sun can do to him if he chooses to expose more of his skin than he must, but the sunscreen is a relief on that front.

Part of the time, he can be found settled in a beach chair under an umbrella, cool glass of water in hand as he watches the waves roll in and out, listening to the sounds of the ocean. When the people start to bother him or if he just feels like going a little more solo, he'll be wandering the length of the shore as far as he can, taking in the breeze and the sounds at his leisure.

Contrary to popular beach fashion, Kuja is not wearing a bathing suit of any kind, and he isn't going swimming. All of that salt water is murder on his skin. And he is not washing his tail more than he has to.

Before dinner, Kuja has wandered far down the shore to take in the sunset on his own, though he keeps careful watch over the rest of the crowd to make sure he isn't left behind when they return. It has been a pleasantly relaxing day, but though the sunset is beautiful and he can allow himself to be swept away (in part) in its majesty, it marks an end to their short lived vacation. They'll be returning to the school grounds soon, and he isn't looking forward to it.

He'll be chewing quietly on a sausage link when the second lights show starts up, and pause there to watch it, quietly in awe with probably the entire student body. It's lovely, to be sure, just as any light display ought to be, and maybe it's a sort of pick me up as well, a last hurrah before classes must start again and a whole new semester begins.

Since Noctis has been out fishing just about all day and night (which was actually rather nice because there was no one around to complain at him or nag him to leave) he figures he'd better start wrapping it up before he gets left.

He'd had to let everything go but still, it was a relatively nice quiet time with few interruptions. It gave him time to think more than just sitting in a dorm room with his cat. He'd started to feel almost like his old self so it was definitely something that he planned on doing more often.

Fishing pole and lure box in hand, the king started to walk and was handed a plate full of hamburgers and sausages by some lady. He saw Kuja and before Noctis could say something to him, that's when he noticed and heard the fireworks going off.

Well, this was certainly unexpected.

[THE BEACH!!! DOING BEACH THINGS!!! Webby so thrilled, you guys. Sure, she's been to the marina back at Duckburg, but that wasn't exactly built for fun and excitement. Right now, she's so excited she can't stand still! ... Which you would think she'd be forced to, given how tightly packed the ride is.

Nope! She's hanging from the handles, occasionally swinging from one to the next like a kid on the monkey bars.]

Fire In The Sky

[So pretty! Webby has finally calmed down for the most part, sitting on a beach towel as she watches the fireworks and nibbling on food. She hugs her knees, smiling as the colors explode in the sky.]

[Okay, Webby just lobbed a ball at a guy who's used to reacting in combat more than anything else.]

[As soon as the warning comes and his keen ears and battle intuition detect an incoming projectile, Dust leaps to one side, rolling on the sand and coming up with his momentum intact so he can boot the ball off into the distance. The twist of his kick carries him around in a circle, water whirling off his foot in a glistening arc before he lands back in the surf with one hand back and ready and one forward to guard.]

[It would've looked much cooler if he'd been in his usual clothes complete with cloak, but the tail tracing his movements in midair helped make up for that a little.]

Together, On the Open Road

Dust did not like crowds in the least. Used to the wide-open fields and forests of Falana, and sprawling villages without many people, the Magicademy had been a heck of a change. And just as he was adapting to that, here he was, crammed into an airship so tight he felt like he couldn't breathe. Why'd he agree to come along on this anyway?

Upside: he had a seat, even if it was squished into a corner. Downside: at any moment, the winds bumping up against the airship might shift it suddenly enough that someone could tumble into that seat as well...

Wavering at Waves

And how had he let himself get talking into a swimsuit?!

Truth was, Dust felt incredibly self-conscious outside of his usual clothing, which among its other virtues was very enveloping. He had literally never worn anything less than that, even in Falana, where anyone could see him, so standing here in just bathing shorts was painfully out of his comfort zone. Worse still, this outfit advertised his fur. Sure, no one who looked at him wouldn't guess that he was covered in fur from head to foot, but showing it off so openly just reminded him that he was the only Warmblood here, in a sea of humans (and some ducks).

And getting someone to make a hole in the suit for his tail had just been the icing on the cake.

So a very out-of-sorts Dust paced down the beach, water swirling around his feet as the waves broke and slid up the sand, then back. With his hat still on, mind. The hat didn't go ever, as far as he was concerned.

Dust was pretty blatantly not getting into the spirit here.

At This Time of Year, At This Time of Day?

Dust had to give credit where credit was due.

That sight was pretty amazing.

"Maybe I'm looking at this magic thing wrong," he said, quiet but carrying as his voice always did.

The blue runes on one of the swords lying next to him on the beach blanket flickered. "Growth comes in many forms, Dust. It may be time for you to grow in a different way than you expect."

"Yeah!" chimed in the other, red sword. "Like learning to use two swords!"

"I... feel like one of you is being more helpful than the other, here."

Wavering at Waves

Dust...probably wasn't expecting Isabel, either, but there she was, shamelessly brandishing a pool noodle as a fake sword, and bapping lightly at his tail after splashing her way at him. She lifts it up and points it at him as if it were a sword no one ever wielded. Somewhere, her father is facepalming...albeit briefly. This is the type of thing Morgan himself might do, after all.

"Hands up! It's the Fun Police and you are in violation--of something, because dude, you are failing to have fun!"

Go Into the Sand and the Dust and the Sky

[Y'all ain't ever seen Jecht as at home as he is in the water.]

[Whether it's floating on his back like not even a ton of weight could make him sink, or splashing around with both power and surprising grace for a big tough guy, or crashing through waves like he's hitting back against the ocean and winning the fight, Jecht's in his element.]

[And then he dives beneath the waves, and... doesn't come up.]

[For several minutes.]

[Only then does he break the surface of the water again, launching himself a dozen feet into the sky on the sheer strength of his legs to turn a massive flip and crash back down with a laugh.]

Hey! Hey! Throw the ball this way!

[He's pointing to a spare bala-inlota ball that Professor King had left lying around. Come on, send it to him!]

Sand Castles In the Sky

[Jecht's basically the oldest student around here, right? So of course he's diving straight into the sand castle contest like he's some kid unleashed on a beach for the first time.]

[And he's going big, already shoving together a huge mound of soggy sand into a pile with huge scoops of his hands.]

Ain't sure how I'm gonna get a whole city together, but it ain't gonna be for lack of trying!

[After all his energy from earlier, Jecht is oddly subdued while he watches the sky above. Not tired; even at his age, Jecht doesn't get tired real easy. No, he's actually thoughtful and even a little nostalgic, standing there on the beach with his head tipped back.]

Crowded Quarters: the MTA should stand for...

Yotsuyu has regrets. Many of them. Chief of which is the fact that she did not manage to secure a space anywhere near a window. She is rather warm, sweating (not glowing, UGH), and if someone else takes a free grope--intentional or not--they may just find themselves Modified into more than they bargained for--or possessing more appendages than they once had. She is grateful to whichever benevolent spirits exist that she does not get motion sickness, or this might be even worse than it already is. She is also grateful for her fan. Truly, Yotsuyu misses the Academy's airship already.

Wave your hands: let's have a kiki

Perhaps you might expect Yotsuyu to be reading quietly and shading herself under an umbrella, out of the way of all the beachgoing chaos by the rather exuberant student body. Perhaps you will be surprised, then, to know that you are wrong, and, giggling like a little girl, Yotsuyu has already chosen a swimsuit and thrown herself into the surf and is splashing around as if she's half her age. She isn't sure what it is, but she's availed herself of a pool noodle, and is alternately floating on it out in the waves, or finding someone to (gently!) bean. (Most Likely Target: Jecht. 'Cause he'll put up with it. But really, no one is safe...)

Fire in the Sky: this kiki is marvelous

There were fireworks on Hydaelyn, not that the Empire was given to using them often--if at all. They were more Eorzean or Doman celebrations--when the Domans had something to celebrate, which wasn't often under the Acting Viceroy. Still, now? Yotsuyu's eyes are wide as the beautiful sunset is replaced by the spectacle. She'd made a contribution of her own to the professors' feast, as well--a large armload of clams. She'd been forced to dig them as a child, but it was less a task here, and more something enjoyable she could do for (and with, if anyone had wanted to help!) her friends. There are also rice balls for the vegetarians, regardless of what she has had to Discover to do it!

Closed to the Seasalt Fam

Some part of Lea still couldn't believe it. That they were all here, at the beach, just like they'd promised. It seemed so much longer ago than it had actually been... But they were all here now. Isa too. This was... everything he'd wanted. And for the moment, he couldn't bring himself to care that they'd all had to be magically kidnapped to get it.

"Looks like we finally made it to the beach," he said. "So... what do you guys want to do first?"

Well this was... awkward. For once, Lea was glad that he was so skinny, but he had to wonder what kind of fire codes this place had and if packing an airship like this violated any of them? Maybe he'd check out his law textbook later, see if it said anything about them; if it did, it'd be the first practical use he'd gotten out of the thing.

For now, though he was just focused on trying not to squish or be by squished by anybody. Which was easier said than done.

Now clad in some aoppropriate swimtrunks, Lea was more than happy to hit the beach, and more than ready to see how well his swimming skills have held up in the years he had little use for them. Or alternately, he'd also snagged a red frisbee, if anyone was interested in a game.

Lea sat back on the sand, gazing up at the sky as the fireworks lit it up. Feeling completely content. This... was perfect. He literally couldn't imagine a better ending to the day, and not even the prospect of having to pile back into the crowded airship for the return trip could spoil things for him. "I wish every day could be like this..."
