Duck-Feels, Woo-oo! (Closed)
Who: Webby, Dewey & Lena
What: Dewey and Lena separately check in on Webby after a genie made her a jerk.
Where: Makerion Keep, a.k.a the Ka dorms.
When: Days after Genie Jerk.
Warnings: N/A.
On the plus side, Webby had at least been keeping up with her studies - but it was really an effort to avoid thinking about 'other things', like how that wish had made her insult her friends. While It was easy to blame the genie and her ill-worded wish, at the heart of it she still it was her fault. She'd said those nasty things, and how could she make up for it? They were so wonderful to her, they deserved the best, more than just a lame "I'm sorry."
With a sigh, she closed her book and hugged her knees tight.

Even so, he stopped by the Great Hall on his way over to Makerion Keep, and procured a pair of cheeseburgers and a giant ice cream sundae with two spoons, because that was far more Webby's speed than a lean steak any day. He knew what it was like to not feel like yourself - even if he didn't really know to that extent - and it seemed like what she needed was a reminder that she was still ... her.
Tucking the bag of burgers underneath one arm, he cradled the ice cream carefully in his free hand and reached out to knock on the door.
"Webby?"

Jorry, her snake familiar, could smell meat and didn't want to waste an opportunity. He slid out under the door, popping up at Dewey's feet and giving him a few hello blinks.

"ICE CREAM?"
... But upon seeing Dewey's face, all the guilt flooded back into her brain. She didn't slam the door shut, but she did close it enough so that only a tiny bit of her face peeked out.
"... I haven't thought of a good enough apology yet."

"I promise, I won't tell them..." She winced. "How bad was it?"
no subject
"Honestly, I think the worst part is that it doesn't even make any sense. I wished for a boombox so I could play some music... And instead I got this little cardboard box. When I opened it, a bunch of makeup flew out and started trying to ... Well. It wasn't one of your makeovers. I'll put it that way."
no subject
"Oh! It was a box that went BOOM!" She emphasized with jazz hands - although doing so now allowed the door to swing wide upon. "I... guess that genie was the type who would twist everyone's wishes to the worst interpretation."

He held out her sundae, piled high with sprinkles and candied fruit and whipped cream that was starting to go a little droopy from waiting to be eaten. But he had a trick up his sleeve for that...he hoped.

"Big hugs once our hands are empty, okay?"

"Thanks, Dewey... I'm really glad you came. Not just to my room, but to this weird world."

What are manners? She's just going to dig into her burger, nomnomnomnom.
no subject
He, too, sets to devouring his burger, careful not to lose any condiments or pickles out the sides.
"Have you met Orisa? She's a robot with four legs."
no subject
"A robot learning magic... it's like, the best of both worlds!"
no subject
"Hey, Pink. Open up."
no subject
Finally, after a moment, her voice came from the other side of the door. "I haven't come up with a good apology yet."
no subject
"You don't need one. Just open the door."
A pause.
"Please?"
no subject
After another silent, anxious moment, she slowly opened the door - but only enough to slightly peek out.
"... Hi, Lena."
no subject
She managed what she hoped was a reassuring smile.
"Can I come in?"
no subject
"I'M SO SORRYYYYYYY!"
no subject
"Hey, what're you sorry for, Pink? I knew that wasn't you."

"... I'll never make another wish like that again. I don't want to worry you... but... I guess caring about someone means worrying no matter what."
no subject
"So I've heard."
no subject
"... Thanks for making me feel better."
no subject
"Hey, it's the least I could do."
no subject
"... Does this mean you still wanna have our study-sleepovers?" Granted, it was usually just Webby studying while Lena took a comfortable snooze on her lap.
