In some ways it might be worse for Hel than others- she relied on her magical prowess to stay in command of her realm so when she arrived here powerless it had made her feel something she tried never to entertain. She felt vulnerable and weak, which was likely why she had amped up her sarcasm and bitter sentiments on that first day. Even if she was at a disadvantage she was compelled to appear as though she wasn't. Being sans powers was like losing the function of her limbs. It's why she was working so hard toward restoring her mastery of the craft.
