Adventure 🍌 30,000 Pounds of Bananas 🍌 [Open to all!]
Where: Near the Great Hall
When: During the month
Who: Hel; Open!
What: A box of bananas topples out of an airship and threatens to release it's contents haphazardly about the area (The full prompt)
While she was between classes, Hel walked the grounds, getting a bit of fresh air in the process. Being cooped up on this one floating island was getting to be tiresome, not that she had taken the time to explore everything it had to offer just yet it was just hard for her to feel comfortable with this situation. Getting out of her comfort zone and really starting to learn more about her fellow sundered probably would have helped- but it would be best if she had a few more spells under her belt just in case she needed them. On a whim Hel decided to go back to this library she hadn't been able to properly research yet, but just as she turned to head in it's direction a large wooden crate crashed into the ground just narrowly missing her and embedding one of it's corners into the soft earth.
Visibly jumping, she then scowled when she realized what had happened and where the source of the box was located high up in the sky. An airship was floating up above getting ready to unload supplies for the school.
The creaking and groaning of the crate. forced her to look back at it, catching sight of the label in the process. Realizing that she was about to be coated in a myriad of funny-shaped fruits she swiftly whipped out the infinity cloth and set to work wrapping the crate with it. Having recently learned that anything wrapped in his endless material would also reduce in size and weight it seemed like the swiftest and most logical choice of action. Still- it must have looked prrrrreeettty stupid to those in the area.

The voice was coming from a few feet behind Hel, where Louie stood watching her. He hadn't spoken to her meaningfully - at least, not to his knowledge, setting aside the conversation over the bulletin boards - since they'd both arrived. Still, he'd liked her well enough on that meeting, so why not talk to her?
Plus, how else was he going to find out what on earth she was doing?

"It has been some time since we last spoke, have you adjusted into your new routine here?" It wasn't as interesting a topic as she would have preferred but at least it wasn't about the box currently wrapped in cloth.

When she seemed to recognize him, he gave a small nod. "Yeah, I guess I have. As much as I ever will, anyway - how about you? Also, what were you doing there?" If she wasn't going to bring it up, then he was going to ask.
no subject
Yes, she recognized him. That 'Therian' (Duck) who helped her out before, without much fuss. She thought favorably of him. ".... When you put it that way, then it's the same for me." She hadn't really adjusted to the situation, at least not as swiftly as she would have liked. It was taking too long to learn this awkward type of magic, and the results weren't impressing her so far.
Placing herself more between Louie and the box as if she could hide it behind her slim legs she reluctantly answered. "What else? Fixing someone else's mistake- again".
no subject
He made an amused sound at her explanation of what she was doing. "Okay, and how are you doing that? Because it almost just looks like you're wrapping someone's present." He figured that wasn't the actual case, of course.

The duck wasn't totally convinced was he? "This box of supplies was about to strew bananas all over the campus..." It took only a moment for her own words to hit her ears. Man, did they sound stupid. Bananas weren't all that threatening on their own.
".................................."
"Besides, I learned that the cloth of infinity has other abilities..... I was... testing them." Sure.

But then again, there at the Magicademy, few things seemed to make sense. And the more he thought about that, the more amused Louie became, until he was laughing.
"If we were anywhere else, I'd think you were lying, or crazy," he explained once he'd calmed down. "But here? You know what, I believe you. A box of bananas... Man, this place is weird. Is that what fell just now?"
He'd been close behind her, after all.

Hel wasn't sure how to take the laughter at first. One part of her felt indignant that this creature would have the insolence to laugh at an Aesir, but on the other hand she knew he wasn't being malicious about it. She knew what she said was idiotic, so she deserved this kind of response. Still- what was socializing like a normal person?
"This place has some ridiculous elements to it..." There, she said something. With a sage nod, still being a little too serious for the occasion. If the crate had hit either one of them it could have done some damage but stationary.... it was just a box of bananas.
"If this cloth works," Turning to look at it, " This box should reduce in mass and be easier to carry..." Still it felt strange to leave it at that. "I would have thought bananas were indigenous to Midgard.... or that the people here would call it by another name." Eh, Dimensions, amiright?
no subject
"Um... Yeah, I guess that is pretty weird. That they're still called bananas," he pointed out. After all, he'd learned early on that a lot of the plants and crops here had unique names and were generally different from what he was used to. "Do you know who they're supposed to be sent to?" After all, he assumed the bananas weren't intended to just sit there, right? Maybe?
You saw nothing XD, also sorry for her awkward. It should improve >.>;
"Yeah....." A beat passes and she looked aside briefly. "A delivery for the school I would imagine, lest they would have docked elsewhere."
"There wasn't really time to study the label affixed to it."
All is fine!

"So, you gonna get it, or what?"
no subject
That question dispelled her earlier expectations. "It's not as if I am incapable." Besides, like she said the crate would be considerably lighter now.

With the flip of her wrist, the infinity cloth and it's contents started to rise off the ground, because why do anything the normal way. There, at least she didn't have to give him the satisfaction of seeing her leaning over to pick it up. The crate was loads lighter thanks to the special properties of the cloth anyway.
Then she proceeded to head for the kitchens, though she was sorely tempted to unleash these bananas in Louie's dorm room instead and let him deal with them.
no subject
"Looks like you're picking up on the magic here pretty well, though."
no subject
That was understandable, though Hel herself would not agree. She noticed that she was unable to shake his companionship on this more trivial of quests."I'm the Queen of the Helheim, you should expect no less." Truth be told, there was still much for her to learn, but levitation had been her first priority. Now she was working on something more offensive. As they made their way to the kitchen she stole a glance to see if Louie was still there and lo and behold he was.
"Is it not the same for you?"

"The magic here does seem to rely on various mediums to manifest through." Music in one dorm, math in another. "If you are having trouble, you might look for a tutor."
They reached the kitchens swiftly enough, but there still remained the problem of properly disposing of the cloth's contents. She hadn't stopped the crate from coming undone but contained it. There would likely be a mess in the end after all. "I wouldn't stand too close.........."
no subject
"Are you offering? To be my tutor?" His tone was relaxed, even playful. Was he still teasing her, or honestly looking for some help?
When they did reach the kitchen, and Hel made her suggestion, he did indeed stepped back. "You don't have to tell me twice."
no subject
Once Louie backed up, she did the same, letting the crate wrapped in cloth float ahead of her into the walk-in pantry. Then to exact more precision, she got out her wand and flicked it through the air in a motion that mimicked untying. the cloth slowly fell free of it's knot and tilted away from the pair to dump out it's contents.
no subject
He watched - impressed, clearly impressed though he tried to hide it - as she carefully undid the cloth's knot, releasing bananas into the pantry. "Not bad, Hel."
no subject
Sure it was for something simple, but the compliment drew a brief but satisfied smile to her lips.
[OOC: The results]
[ It wasn't long after that the pair of them could hear voices of the kitchen staff coming over to congratulate them. Okay, maybe they were blowing this a little out of proportion. All she had done was play as errand girl and now the staff was thanking them and offering them pie?]
