She looked down at her hands, thinking about that. That she could have had a heart all along? Maybe that was why nothing seemed different. She could almost accept that, almost. But that had therefore been somehow more than Axel or Roxas? She shook her head. That wasn't right, she knew it wasn't. Her whole, if you could call it an existence, was built on trying to be as much as they were, and often failing. Her desperation to use the Keyblade properly, to finish even basic missions where they were on more advanced and difficult ones. ?needing their help for everything...
But then.. her powers, her Keyblade, they used to weaken Roxas when she used them. If she had a heart back then, had it somehow known and kept her weak? She shook her head again. No. She hand't known then. She had been desperate. So desperate to prove herself, to do whatever it took. There was no way that any part of her had held herself back.
But maybe they had each kept a silver of a heart too? Everything else they knew about themselves had been either lies or wrong. So maybe that was too. Or, at the least, Axel remembered having one, and maybe memory was enough? She knew memory was important. It was why she had to be not just destroyed, but forgotten. Because without the memories that made her, Sora could not wake. Could it be that the memories of Axel's heart had been enough to keep him and Roxas strong er than her? Except Roxas hadn't had any memories at all.
"I think I'm just getting myself more confused," she admitted, still studying her gloves. She focused on the rest of what he said, trying to think about that instead. Though trying to imagine Axel as a kid... that was almost as difficult as trying to figure out memories. He was Axel. She really couldn't think of him as anything or anyone else. Was he the same just... shorter? That just seemed wrong too, though. Axel. Short. Her lips twitched up, because while she couldn't picture it, it was still amusing. And that might have been enough to derail all other trains of thought at the moment.
