"I admit it was a guess." Webby as a name had the ring of a shortened-name to it, or a self-given one; had she been a boy, he might have thought it was a surname instead, re-purposed to be a first name (rather like Adam's little friend Wesley? Wendsy? Oh, bother, he couldn't remember). Her last name sounded important, if only because it reminded Aziraphale of a wealthy American he had heard about during the late-nineteenth century.

"But you prefer Webby?" He didn't want to call her the wrong name.
